Foundation

Starting Friday on Apple TV. Wonder if they’ll do it justice? May be too much to hope for. But I may read it again regardless. It’s been over 30 years.

I’ll take a look - I loved the books but that was way back, as well.

I hope this one, and the new Dune, will do justice to the books and without a lot of the crap modern movie makers seem compelled to add in. If they can do that, they will have a real hit.

The big difference is that Foundation has never before been brought to the screen, whereas Dune has been done on screen, but not very well. These large works are better handled by a series on TV than by a single cinematic release. There’s just too much story to squeeze into 2-3 hours of film.

I'll definitely watch Foundation. It was one of my favorites as a kid.

I'd love to see a well made Dune miniseries. It would probably take something like 20 hours of screen time to do justice to it.

Absolutely agree! And make it true to the author, no modern “spin” or agenda needed. Like a story of unrequited love between an elf and a dwarf 🙄

I’d be happy if they got the first book right. Some of the later ones got really weird…
