Gettysburg Ghost Signting

I first saw this footage when it was featured on TV, and it could be seen very clearly. It appears to be an apparition of a burly Civil War soldier. I tried watching this again on my smart phone and couldn’t see it at all. I CAN see it on my iPad. The apparition’s head first starts becoming visible from about 1:50, above the wheel (furthest to the right in the picture) of the closer of the two cannons. The full figure then appears to walk out from between the two cannons, turns to the right (its left), then disappears at around 2:05. You may need to “zoom in” or expand the picture to see it clearly.

3 Scary Alaskan Horror Stories

I recently discovered this guy’s channel, and I really like his narration of these true encounter stories. His style is such that he makes them sound like they’re his own stories, a rare talent that only a few YouTube true horror story narrators have. I only post videos/stories/ accounts in this thread that I feel are legitimate, or at least have an air of legitimacy, and are NOT “CreepyPasta” horror fiction.

A couple of very interesting articles today. I’ve been following the work of Nick Redfern, the author of the first article, for nearly 20 years now. He’s not someone who just studies this stuff; he has actually done a lot of hands-on field research, in the UK and in the Americas. He has also had many of his own bizarre experiences. I agree with his view that there is far more to the ‘cryptid’ creatures like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Dogmen, and the even weirder creatures/beings that are being encountered. My personal belief (and the conclusion of many who have actually sought out these creatures, often for decades) is that they are more than simply ‘unknown animals’ and are both physical and non-physical in nature, in ways that we can’t quite comprehend. To some, this may sound ridiculous; but if someone has had enough ‘unusual’ experiences in their own life AND has researched a number of these subjects a lot without having a personal agenda attached to it, it’s not ridiculous at all.

I watched the civil war / cannon one. Doesn't seem legit, but to be honest with you, I do not dabble in watching things like this. I don't want to be freaked out if I'm alone in the dark. If I ever saw anything, I'd ignore it for my mental health. I used to read the Bible a lot and same thing, it just got to be too much trying to rationalize miracles.

That’s cool. I post these things to share, not really trying to convince anyone one way or the other. I do only post what I either know to be true (my own personal experiences), or others’ accounts that I at least feel are legit.

TBH, “ghosts” don’t really spook me much at all. I’ve had enough experiences with nonphysical “beings” (whether they were ghosts or some other types of entities) since childhood that it doesn’t rattle me. I did get temporarily creeped out by a couple incidents in Taiwan in my 20s, when I got “jumped” by entities, but that was back then, and I got over them pretty quickly. Here’s a little tip: If some “thing” is messing with you and you get freaked out, “it” will mess with you even more. ‘Negative’ entities are attracted to, and feed off of, strong negative human emotions like fear, anger, depression, etc.

That doesn't mean to act like a hero, or to be confrontational with or disrespectful to negative entities; but don't allow them to freak you out, and don't do anything that allows or encourages them to form an attachment to you.

Thanks for sharing Jim, this reminds me of one of the first DVD's I ever picked up, titled "Occult history of the 3rd Reich". It really opened my eyes to the spiritual nature of evil and sent me down a rabbithole, ending up with several hundred DVD's on the topic a couple decades later. Dave Emory was also a great source of information back then, that is if you don't fall asleep to his densely packed but very monotone diatribes. To your point, "die Glocke" and interdimensional portals...

13 Park Ranger Encounter Horror Stories

This channel has many videos that are collections of numerous supposedly true accounts from park rangers. I’ll be posting more of his videos of park ranger accounts. I find accounts of strange happenings in the wilderness to be FAR more fascinating (and far creepier) than things like haunted houses or haunted castles. I often listen to these videos while I’m cooking.

JIm here where I live in the Kansas City, Missouri area and all the way out to Eastern Jackson county along with Layfayette and Johnson counties here in Missouri was truly a super hot bed for notable Civil War Battles. There are so many parks and buildings along with historic cemeteries all pertaining to the Civil War in this area I think you would be hard pressed to find any other areas with so much Civil War history.

Well I put all of that out there for the education of those interested because we have had more than our share of paranormal happenings at many of these old battlefields, parks and memorial sites. Also Lexington, Missouri has so much Civil War history attached to it which is about a 35 minute drive from where I live. Also the battle of Lone Jack which is close to where I live was a very important event in the history of the Civil War.

I would love to see one of those better known investigators of the paranormal come here. I could take them to some really great historic places. I've heard so many testimonies of stuff that has happened at many of these historic sites.

Thank you for sharing, Joe. That sounds very interesting.

Why not contact some of those paranormal investigators who are on TV? I’m sure someone like Zak Bagans and his Ghost Adventures crew would be interested and put it on their show. They’ve done it with other civil war battlefield sites. I only mention Zak Bagans because he and his team are the most prolific (and I think the most popular) of the paranormal investigators on TV.

Another legit investigator and a good choice to contact is Dave Schrader.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about a lot of paranormal investigators. There are probably groups in every American city and town, but some I’ve seen don’t seem to know what they’re doing, and do things that could stir things up and make things worse for the people who called them for help, who will have to deal with the consequences after the investigators leave. It seems like every city has people who think that buying paranormal investigation equipment and starting a group makes them paranormal investigators. A lot of times, they come across looking like rinky-dink operations. Many are also scared of their own shadows.

Then there are those investigators who are the real deal. For example, Lon Strickler, who has decades of experience in paranormal investigations, has a team and runs his own site, phantoms and monsters, from which I post many articles here (including my own story, which he published on his site in 2016, and which I shared early in this thread). He lives in Gettysburg; one of, if not the, most haunted of the civil war sites in the country. His investigations cover the entire paranormal spectrum: Cryptid creatures, ghosts, UFOs, portals, mysterious vanishings and near-vanishings, you name it. He doesn’t have a TV show, but he has made TV appearances.

Dogman Encounter - Yes, They Do Kill People

Interesting short story, narrated by Dark Waters (James Williams). Dark Waters thoroughly vets each and every story he presents for veracity. Is it really true? According to Dark Waters it is, and he is one who does not suffer fools (or liars) lightly. But you decide for yourself.

“Dogman: My Interview With Dark Waters”

Jeffrey Nadolny interviews Dark Waters (James Williams). This is a GREAT interview for anyone who might be interested in how Dark Waters comes across his stories/accounts (many of which I’ve posted in this thread), the background to some of the accounts, how he presents the stories, the consequences some witnesses have faced in their lives after telling their stories, etc.
