Still waiting on more info on all this. Very stranger and certainly tragic. 24 years old, he was still pretty much a kid!

I'm not a college football guy, so I don't really know who anybody is besides maybe their name haha. All the analysts seem to love my Giants picks though. Definitely positions we need filled, with talent!

Will that kid immediately challenge Trubisky??

That's great news for yall Giants fans, Rick.
To be honest, I had actually forgotten about the draft!
I was outside mowing until dark last night.
As for the Q.B., that's a good question but, I kinda think not. I was actually hoping Pittsburgh would've chosen Sam Howell - that would've been 2 Tar Heel Q.B.'s
It is gonna be interesting to see how Trubisky does under Mike Tomlin. I would imagine he will get a lot better.

No big wonder Georgia won the National Championship last season. They had 5 players including the overall #1 draft pick - go in the first round!
#1, #13, #22, #28, & #32
And......they say the 1st pick of the 2nd round, lol...

Easy to make a great pick when you are always picking in the top 10! 🤣

The draft is fun but it’s the ultimate mystery. The Cowboys have drafted really well the last few years yet have nothing to show for it. 🫣

I was considering starting the “NFL 2022-2023 Season” thread last night during the draft… but then the Patriots traded back in the first round just to then draft a fat *** guard who was projected to go in the third round NOT the first. The player might end up being great but it’s frustrating to see him taken so early in the draft.

My motivation and excitement for the off-season fell off a cliff after they made that pick. At face value, it looks like the worst pick Belichick and the Pats have ever made. They’re going to need some absolute steals in the upcoming rounds if they plan to make up for such a horrible first pick.

We can all feel better about the draft seeing the packers continue to not give 1 S*** about their QB’s happiness. It’s just beautiful they’ve never drafted a 1st rd WR in Rodgers entire career.

Plus Nakobe Dean (SEC Defensive Player of the Year) went in the third round. If he turns out not to have a career ending injury, that's going to be a super bargain for Philadelphia. He was one of UGA's best players on defense, and his draft status dropped because he had an injury (after the season ended) and didn't work out at the combine. An uninjured Nakobe Dean is a definite first round pick. And even if he misses a full season, he's still going to look like a bargain if he's playing in 2023.

Article: https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/202 ... sults-2022

On the other hand, he graduated with an engineering degree and a 3.55 GPA in three years. So even if he's not playing football, I think he's going to do ok for himself.

On the same theme, Georgia has apparently broken the record for most players drafted in one season: https://theathletic.com/news/georgia-dr ... r6cWiqiYx/

RIP to Marion Barber "Marion The Barbarian"

Definitely a hard nosed running back, not a guy I was happy for my Giants to play against twice a season, but I respected and enjoyed watching his running style. Only 38 years old.

Aw, man...that was totally unexpected. RIP. He was definitely the heart of the offense during his time in Dallas, and I didn't even know that he was still in the area. Thoughts are with those who knew and loved him.
So it goes.

Yeah he was a "ram it down your throat", Old School type of running back that you don't see much anymore. He somewhat reminded me of Earl Campbell with his style. It's a shame that him, Tony Romo and T.O. never got to the Superbowl. I actually liked that Cowboys team on that era. Barber and T.O. were good buddies when he was playing with the Cowboys.

I am sorry to hear about his passing. There have been a huge amount of pro sports players of all types die unexpectedly in the past few months. However there hasn't been that many in the NFL die in that run of untimely deaths of sports players and I hope no more do. I'm anxious to hear what he ultimately died from.
