I just saw this. Man, what a bummer! Ladders are dangerous for a fact. I am glad you weren't seriously hurt. The wound was not very deep, thank God.

I got cut on my hand by an aluminum ladder. I was coming down and somehow missed a step and trying to catch myself I gouged out part of my palm. Ouch.

Be careful and wait till your wife is around to hold the ladder.

... or soften the drop zone.

Nah, j/k. ;) Hope you don't mind, David.

Well actually that's the first thing I said was I'm glad she wasn't under me or we'd both be hurt because she couldn't catch me.

Of course. Nobody would want two people hurt.

But Doc made a valid point. Someone should always hold the ladder. That person might not catch you, but YOU will be extra careful, knowing that there's some dear person standing right under you.

Another lesson learnt, right?

Sorry David, but Rick’s right, it could have been so much worse! Hope you heal up soon!

Let’s hear about that split second “oh $***” moment between slipping and landing? We’ve all been there, like “this is going to hurt bad!”

I’ve been thinking of getting Leaf Filter installed over my gutters, but am not sure if it’s worth it or not.

Jim
I had leaf and litter guards put on my gutters. Best thing ever. I no longer have to do the dangerous job of cleaning out anything.

I missed the boat on that invention and it haunts me to this day. A guy I went to school with started selling and installing them right after high school and he was a bit if a loser but ended up making about $20k a MONTH doing gutters. No idea what ever became of him but I remember he has so much cash he didn't know how to spend it.

Oooh, that would be tough. Well, I'd still install them on any house I owned. They are real life savers. Some crud can still get in there. The little sandy stuff from the shingles will get in there and over many years could possible clog up, but then all you need is to hire a 14 year old.

Cheese whiz, that's a nasty cut right there D. I've had my fair share of falls and ladders but not as gruesome as what you had. I hope you heal quickly.

. At least this is my left arm and I'm right handed.

I must admit, I did get a bit confused about this statement and your picture, until I saw the inverted text on your shirt.

Hahaha! :D
