Playskool "My First Knife Fight" Playset

Post by RustyIron »

This cracked me up when I read it. I can't specifically remember any toy knives I had as a kid. I think back to some good friends many years ago. Their kids are now in their 30's. But when they were little they were not allowed to have any toy guns or knives. However, every long or pointy object, whether it was a mere stick or mom's broom, was magically transformed into a knife, sword, or gun. You can take away the toys, but you can't stop boys from being boys.

I can't count the number of sticks my brother and I (and our friends) broke in mock sword fights as kids.

Good times. :)

I had a rubber knife that looked kind of like a Kabar as a kid. The blade would bend super easy. My cousin and I stabbed each other so many times with that thing as kids. The crazy thing is that I grew up and have never had the slightest desire to actually stab anybody. :)

I also had lots of toy guns and got my first real gun for Christmas at about 8-9 years old. I haven’t ever wanted to shoot anybody either.

The link is funny, but sadly it is the way many people view all knives.

I have several guitars and I'm not a Rockstar. It's the craziest thing.
