Clouds

Post by Pokey »

The first two were looking East towards Kansas. It looks like the bottom of a thunderhead.

The last two were taken by a co-worker. It looks like a down draft is blowing them apart in the last photo. She said it got extremely windy a minute later.

Those mamatus are always cool to see (unless you're in tornado alley of course).

Not my picture, but living in the Northern Territory Australia this is a common cloud this time of the year.

Live across the road from the coast the lightning is intense most of the wet season. 2018 there was over 91000 lightning strikes recorded in Darwin in one day ( knowing there is 86400 seconds in a day )

When I was a kid my parents took the family camping on Assateague Island on the US east coast. There was an unexpected thunderstorm that weekend. It felt like 4th of July because lightning was striking every few seconds for 4hrs straight.
