I'm definitely going to have to check some of those out.

I don't have much time for TV, but I watched The Expanse a while back and really enjoyed it.

Thanks! I agree about Altered Carbon season 2. I really couldn't watch it anymore but Season 1 was great. Made me get the Tekeshi Kovacs series ebooks.

And thanks for not recommending stranger things as sci-fi. :D

I'm assuming you've already seen every "Star Trek" series and "Firefly"...

Oldie but goodie: "Babylon 5"

Even older: "Space:1999"

If you like anime, check out "Dallos". It's short, only 4 episodes.

I suppose "X-Files" might qualify as SF. If you like that, "Fringe" and "Eleventh Hour" are kind of similar.

"Eleventh Hour" was originally made in the UK with Patrick Stewart. Then it was made in the US with Rufus Sewell. Sewell is also in "The Man In The High Castle", which I've never seen. But that's another series that's kind-of/sort-of SF that has good reviews. And Sewell was also in "Dark City" which is a very odd quasi-SF film.

I think X-Files and Fringe are sci-fi too, more of a "fringe science" type of genre like Outer Limits, Black Mirror, Love Death & Robots and PKD's Electric Dreams. Fringe has a faint story arch but the others are almost standalone mini-episodes/movies so it's different to follow if you are looking at a start and finish(ish) type of series.

I just started The Man in the High Castle, it's interesting but I need to brush up on my history a little more to appreciate the historical perspective 😂

Not sure how I have missed this series but it's definitely on my radar now.

@chuck_roxas45, also if you like more science in the fiction, MARS and Away are two series that have a docu-fiction feel.

Counterpart. Originally aired on Show Time, now streaming on Amazon Prime. It's not hardcore Sci-fi, but it should have enough to keep you interested (parallel universe, that's not a spoiler). Sadly it is only two seasons, but I think it is definitely worth your time.

Clone Wars the series. Yes, I know that it is a cartoon, but the story telling is really good. It does a much better job at showing all of the nuances that Episodes 1, 2, and 3 failed to do. I like that they would string three or four episodes in a row to tell a story arc. The last four episodes of season 7 (the final season) were so darn good. And if you like Clone Wars (the movie is only so-so), then Rebels is good too. Also by Dave Filoni (writer/producer/director and sometimes actor in the Mandalorian). Rebels is definitely for a younger audience, but the story telling is there.

Also, The Orville. I know it's Seth McFarland and is slanted towards comedy, but it really is an excellent show! I haven't seen Star Trek Discovery, but I read a few things from people who watched both and they said the Orville is what Discovery wished it was.

I love star trek, even the new movies. Of course I enjoy the old ones more, who wouldn't? But the new ones were fun!

Theres a handful of Doctor Who episodes which are actually pretty amazing.

The problem is there is a sea of campy, cheesy, boring and dumb Doctor Who episodes as well.
