I have a few G Shocks. For my activities, they're great because they're almost indestructible.

Get one on order or lay by type deal, as they are about to go up $1000+ as the new model is released only a few days ago.

See, I much prefer the new model. I know you lose a bit of history (but you can still get the Hesalite crystal and the closed case back), but I welcome the improved accuracy and anti-magnetism. For all the talk of Swiss precision, mechanical watches aren't all that accurate when compared to quartz (especially the high end quartzes coming out of Grand Seiko). It's not a big deal really, but it was not what I expected. Dollar for dollar, Omega has the best movements out there. I'm glad that their best looking and most iconic watch gets a modern movement (aside from the special editions). Now, will I be spending the $7,000 to get one? I really want to, but I don't think I can justify it at all.

I love those comedic wristwatches that have come down over the years. Like I mentioned before I had a pal all the way back to the 1970s who had quite a nice collection. He would often wear a Muhammad Ali watch>> he also had one with Spiro Agnew's face on it. He had several wristwatches with famous people on them. One of his later ones he had in the 90s was one of Howard Cosell  . Mickey Mouse couldn't hold a candle to a lot of those guys :o .

He told me that he got most of them from some store in North Kansas City, MO USA EArth. I bet that one of Spiro Agnew that he had might be worth some big $$ if it's still around. I bet a lot of you younger guys don't even know who Spiro Agnew was :D Boy he was a piece of work  :D

I don't, but I really like the stuff they have been putting out lately. The company kinda got lost for a bit after the Tag acquisition. Lately, you are seeing them pull from Heuer's deep vintage catalog. The Autavia is a nice looking watch. Big numbers and broad hands make for a very legible watch. Having the date at the 6 o'clock position helps with symmetry. Those versions with the bronze cases will patina nicely. The Carrera is another model that I like as well.

Yeah, it is those classic big numbers and the date in the proper place that has made me curious. It is good looking enough for the baseball diamond or the office. The strap is super easy to change.

Got into G-Shock watches a few months ago. After trying a 5610, a 2110 and a 9300, I only kept the last one. By far the most comfortable and roomiest of the 3.
I also have a GW-A1000 I picked up cheap because it's been used. So either of these, really.

I love Omega watches and have owned one for many years. Now, they are too expensive for me to seriously think about...at least over here. Plus, there are so many Chinese made counterfeits here that no one can be trusted.
