I have been seeing a few Orient watches posted on thread . What impressions does anyone have of this brand ? How do they compare to other brands , is the movement Japanese ? Thank you , Dan

I love mine. They still do their movement in-house. Their parent company Epson owns Seiko. I would put them in the same quality as Seiko. Until the latest Seiko S Series, their driver watch had a few plus features. The new Orient Sports like the Kamasu is now sporting a Sapphire Crystal. That would be the model I would get today if I was buying another one. For the record, Seikos have always been my favorite. Orients just seem to be a better value.

Orients are great watches, and would be at even significantly higher prices. How many things can we say that about?

ImageJeweler said watch was toast ! He put new batteries in and won’t run . I sat watch on windowsill in Sun . It’s been running perfectly for three days . Whatever problem was it seems to be ok now .

Ha ha ha ! Jeweler told me batteries trashed the watch from leaking . I was super bummed out . I was going to switch out the wristband to another watch that fell apart . I went to start the project and it was ticking along , so set it back to see if it would stop . It’s been keeping perfect time , going to wear it through the weekend . I can’t wait to show this to the jeweler .

Originally meant to never wear this at work, but realized I'll never wear it otherwise since I work a lot and hardly go out. After embracing the scratches and scuffs that come along with wearing a metal watch in a kitchen I've really come to enjoy it. But I definitely won't wear my nice Seiko at work.

Got a new Uncle Seiko blue waffle on my turtle after the factory bracelet failed. The watch was fine luckily.
