That is crazy. Mine is five minutes by bike on the way there, and eight minutes back.

And by the way, kobold, your watch pictures are amazing. Watches aren't that easy to photograph. I hope you are posting some on watch forums also.

Damasko DA38.

If I'm given a choice of accent color, I usually go with blue.

I kind of lost the spark a little with regards to watches, so I haven't bought any in a long time, and actually even sold a few.
When you're trimming the collection, you kind of need to make some decisions on what you want to accomplish with the "few" ones you decide to keep.
One thing I realized is that as much as I like mechanical watches, I don't feel to fuzzy about using them for activities that border on hard use. And that's quite a lot of what I do.
I also much prefer military styled analogue watches to digital, so unless I expect to do something really stupid, one of my quartz military watches seems to be my default go-to these days.
These are quite affordable, pretty though watches that I'm not afraid to use, but I also realize that they will eventually break, and since I'm quite peculiar in my taste of watches, I want to find a replacement at my own pace and have ready for when that time comes, rather than making a knee jerk and rushed purchase when the situation is more urgent. I also follow this philosophy with a few other items that I'm quite dependent on, that I use often and that sees a lot of abuse. It binds up some more money, but I believe I'm saving both money and frustration in the long run, and I'm also more satisfied with the items I have.
Image
I preordered this new model from Momentum a month or so ago, as it fitted very well into my current collection/selection.
It has many of the features I like, e.g: full titanium construction, sapphire crystal, offset screw down crown and a date window. It's also a tiny bit more stylish than my other two, so it might feel less awkward in an office setting and as such be more multi purpose than the others.
No watch is perfect, but the only few nitpicks I have out of the box is stuff I knew about in advance. It has a GMT complication, that while it could prove useful on occasions, I'll rather trade it for a millimeter or so slimmer profile on the case. Thankfully the case is still feels slim enough as it is.
It also has polished hands, which is by no means a deal breaker, but I don't feel it's consistent with the overall design language.
Though I haven't had the opportunity to check it out yet, I also don't expect much from the lume. Sadly good lume doesn't seem to be a priority on this style of watches. This boggles my mind, but I've come to terms with the realities of the world and it doesn't really bother me any more.

My other two quartz military's are the
Image
Boldr Venture v.1
Super light, comfortable and simple.
Pro's: Full titanium, offset crown, sapphire crystal
Con's: Movement is OK, but a little on the cheap side, often wish it had a date complication, mediocre lume.

Image
GWS G10 Pro diver
Pretty much nothing wrong here.
A little heavier than the others with its steel case, but still a very light and comfortable watch to wear.
If anything, I wish it had regular lume in addition to the tritium, but that's really nitpicking.

It is just under 40 mm, but feels big after wearing 37 mm Seiko 5s.

I'm typically a 2 watch kind of guy. 1 for outdoor, 1 for everything else. I have always liked Seiko for the value. Recently discovered Orient and I like em.

I rarely wear a watch anymore but there are some great posts, so I'll have to start from the beginning and see what's up!

Based on that article and the videos I have seen
the smash and grab teams in Chicago
do not appear to be inclusive.

There is an unforgivable paucity of ethnic diversity.

This is about the watch I am not wearing.
After two years and eight months
my Invicta Pro Diver stopped running.
The teeny tiny battery gave out.

A bubble pack of five replacement batteries
shipped to my door is $2.97.

The child labor laws in China
allow 12-year olds to work in factories.
All I can say is those Chinese girls and boys
sure work cheap and do good job.
