Back in June of 2022 I posted this picture
of the sunset on the summer solstice,
as far north as the sun sets at this latitude of 40 degrees.
Well I was a week late taking this picture
of the winter solstice in December
and ten weeks late getting around to posting
but this is about as far south as the sun sets here.
In about a week is the vernal equinox.

It's probably the strangest of boat schedules.
I'm on the boat for 8-12 hours a day and off for the other 12. The boat makes two runs every day and there are 2 full crews. We just trade crews every 12 hours. But there is no hitch. It’s normally 7 days a week from April 1 to Nov 30 and then maintenance and shipyard work for most of the rest of the year. Some of the guys get to take a layoff in the winter but usually not me.
Working a hitch like the folks you know is much more common.

Seven days a week for eight months is a lot. I sure hope you enjoy it (seems like it), and are adequately compensated.
