Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

#1

Post by SkullBouncer »

Squeaking this in under the wire here --

-- Here's remembering the day that Imperial Japan attacked U.S. forces at Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Hawaii -- this honors those through contemplation in observance the massive conflagration, the lives forever changed and those whom made the ultimate sacrifice on that fateful day, December 7 1941 as we entered WWII in the pacific theater of naval and aviation warfare.

The Globe would never be the same.

Always Remember. ;)
Hand Salute.

It was a terrible thing. Our country reacted to this even more than the Towers and came together as one to fight a war the rest of the world was losing.

I had a total of 4 uncles who were all World War II veterans. We have 3 veterans that were at Pearl Harbor that are buried here in the town I'm currently living in i.e. Blue Springs, MO. A lot of military history in our cemetary>> several World War I vets as well>> not to mention several Civil War vets.

I come from a family that has many veterans and people currently in the military. Most people can't even begin to imagine the sacrifices that many of them made just so we got the freedoms we still have. I'm sure grateful to all of them.

My Dad and his older brother were both World War 2 vets. The common bond for that whole generation of Americans was where they were that Sunday morning.
