Steak knives ??

#1

Post by Signalman1 »

Ok guys what would you recommend for a set of steak knives My girl friend needs some good serrated steak knives but every thing I see have complaints of rust spots after a few months of use...like to keep the set less than $100 for a set of 8 if that is even possible. She is not a knife person so they have to be dishwasher safe.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

I have a set of Forschner steak knives that I’ve been very happy with. However I might buy Spyderco ZCuts next time.

I would also suggest the Z Cut's. The SE models are are terrific! Granted if you want a set of 8, you will be spending $160. It's tough to beat them for the price of $20/each though. My wife doesn't go for any other knife in the kitchen (within reason for the cutting task) since getting those a couple weeks ago. CTS-BD1N steel too! Very friendly for touch ups whenever needed.

The Z cuts were my first thought for this too. I've left them wet and covered in lime juice without any issues yet.
