Sweet little Benchmade. Was $125 with the 3V steel. Had to snag it.
Did those get disco'd? They do look really nice.
Thanks, they still make them, the model is the Benchmade 200 Puukko. I got mine from DLT and love it. Its a great camping/hunting knife. I have carried it on several trips to the Everglades and it did very well.

Here’s one of my fixed blades. It’s a custom. It’s a 150 layer Damascus blade. It’s just under a 5 inch blade with a 4 3/4 inch handle, wood species unknown, brass pinned, unsharpened swedge. This is one of the guys first knives but my father can’t remember who made it. It’s fresh off the KME and shaving sharp, but the blade thickness is a little uneven so the grind on it is too (as best I can tell, not positive). On the opposite side the etching on the Damascus is flawed. Like I said this is one of the guys first attempts at knife making.

The sheath is hand made by me.

Teal Delica and PM2 for size reference.

I just found out that one ,,local,, knife making online shop carries Vanadis 4E..... 3,8 mm stock, 500 mm long, that is plenty for 2 ,,full size,, knives. But the cost for the belts is going to be the same as for the steel itself :D  Not sure if I am going this route, maybe. If I could sell some of my collection, then it could be a possible plan.

My father-in-law just gifted me his beautiful old Puma skinning knife. He bought it in the early '70s and the original receipt is still in the box. He paid $11.43 for it including tax. ;) I feel so touched that he passed it on to me!

I have a huge fondness for fixed blades. I've been collecting knives (both fixed and folding) for over 30 years. But, for the past 4 or 5 years I've been learning as much as I can about making them.

Here's one of my most recent projects.
It's Z-Wear (@hrc62) (same as CPM Cru-Wear) with a Ti. guard and Ti. pommel with hidden hardware. It has a stag handle with Ti, copper, G10 and stabilized/dyed figured maple accents. I made the sheath out of 8oz veg. tanned cowhide with copper rivets and a copper post.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Connor, it's a 1500 grit hand rubbed finish but the pictures make it look almost mirror-like. Thank you for the compliment. Hand rubbing high vanadium steels up to 1500 grit is something most knife makers are smart enough to avoid. I appreciate you noticing the results of that extra effort. :)

I understand the handle issue but honestly I like the way it was done for the fact that you could get some custom scales milled for it without having to worry about the tang. My personal preference is a coffin style handle. Unfortunately 2020 was not how I thought it was going to be so maybe I'll work on that in 2021. I also wish it had a sharpened clip but I got it for a decent discount because the spyderco case it comes in had a stain.
