Hi Paul,

From what we’re seeing here, mate, doesn’t look like you need a fire pit to light fires in the US at present.

Believe it or not, they actually bussed in some protestors beside the county that we live in. Which makes absolutely no sense.
I reckon they did because it is an hour away from Asheville?
At any rate, Ashville is such a small city, I dont even know why they went there. But, coming up here in the heart of the mountains where the county population is less than 15,000 is just mind boggling. I just hope for the protestors sake that they do not resort to looting and breaking in. Because those people up here in these mountains will have no problem at shooting them dead to protect thier property and livelihoods. I know they will....
Hopefully it will be a peaceful protest.

Hey Voodoo, I’m not too sure anyone could draw a comparison between our recent fires and the current affairs in the US at present but I wasn’t having a chop at anyone.

Either ways it’s none of my business and I probably shouldn’t have posted anything. :o

Bloke, I was joking too.
Wildfires, protestor fires, armageddon... I guess the comparison is everything burns eventually.

But really, it is just playful jabbing. Im not trying to offend you with a joke about wildfires.

No offence taken here whatsoever, Voodoo. To the contrary, mate, I thought you may have found my flippant post to be offensive.

I just thought Mac asking about fires, somewhat out of the blue, with the current affairs the way they are was ...

Anyhow, you crazy Yanks are our friends and allies and as you may imagine it’s a little disturbing seeing what we see here in the media.

Don’t think I can add much more other than to say I sincerely hope a peaceful and united resolution is found sooner rather than later. :)

MRS.MacLaren decided it was time for a new fire pit.
We already have one, but on 16 acres, there is room for another.
Lol, at any rare, I learned just how bad out shape I'm in.
I swear, theres no way I could put in 8 hours of real work.
****, I prolly couldnt put in 4 hours of real work.
As for now, I'm takin a little break, already unloaded the fire pit and 30 bags of mulch, but what really wore me out was that mattic!
I needed to take the top off the ground around the fire pit- to include all the area of the pit. Man, I'm suckin wind already!
I'll get some pics up tonight of it finished.
Wish me luck lol....
Hey, MacLaren's family, how it goes? You did a great job, but isn't it easier and better to purchase a deck fire pit? It's removable and easy to setup everywhere you want. What do you think?

Sounds good to me bro!
Seriously, it would be mobile and that's nice.
We wanted something permanent. We also have "movie night" on summer Saturdays when it's warm. We have a huge projector that we use to watch movies around the fire pit. We also have a popcorn maker, roast hotdogs and marshmallows etc...
It's just like a mini drive in movie.
But, I could see the benefits of a portable unit too.

I prefer wood fire pits instead of gas, I don’t think it would be safe to have this large of a gas fire..:)
