New Fire Pit
MRS.MacLaren decided it was time for a new fire pit.
We already have one, but on 16 acres, there is room for another.
Lol, at any rare, I learned just how bad out shape I'm in.
I swear, theres no way I could put in 8 hours of real work.
****, I prolly couldnt put in 4 hours of real work.
As for now, I'm takin a little break, already unloaded the fire pit and 30 bags of mulch, but what really wore me out was that mattic!
I needed to take the top off the ground around the fire pit- to include all the area of the pit. Man, I'm suckin wind already!
I'll get some pics up tonight of it finished.
Wish me luck lol....

Thank you.
And, it would be really easy to make one. No need for a kit really.

Re: New Fire Pit
Seriously, though, the fire pit is a great idea.

Re: New Fire Pit
I've built them everywhere I have lived...minus base housing. Easy to whip a basic one up in a weekend but if you are like most folks (me included) you'll add on and improve it as you go. I have done them almost every way imaginable....hole in the yard, sand, gravel and pavers...cut off 55gal drums...26in harrow disk off the farm, sand and pavers....washing machine drum (find a stainless one if you want it to last)...all the way to full blown fireplace with brick chimney. The only limit is your imagination (and/or HOA rules and regs).
Some ideas....

Re: New Fire Pit
I need to build a new one. I spent the day mowing the lawn and building a raised bed garden. MacLaren, you aren't alone in being out of shape my friend! Spending all day in a car doesn't help the situation. Still, nice job!

Re: New Fire Pit
I love a good fire pit. Mine is big and pretty rustic but it gets a lot of use! Here is some slow mo footage from last night.

Great project. Take your time, you don't want it to be too painful.
