Make sure to dry them off really well before you grill them. If you don't, they won't brown.

Ahh, will do that. I always see them look great like Vivi’s and mine always look like crap. Thanks for the heads up.

No problem. Also, make sure the grill is coming fully up to temp.

The keys to browning meat are a dry meat surface and a sufficiently hot cooking surface.

good tips on grilling. I like to salt both sides after patting the meat dry, and having your cooking surface fully heated up is key. I've seen some people keep the heat low out of fear of burning the meat but it takes forever that way and gets subpar results.

Lunch today was a spicy fried chicken sandwich with bacon & provolone, splashed with tabasco, topped with a grilled pineapple ring coated with sweet and sour glaze.

Top sirloin steak resting before I slice it for a salad. A decent steak that is fairly cheap. Image
Homemade ranch as well

If you have a butcher that will cut you something, here's the secret.

Ask them to cut you off the Sirloin Cap and slice it into five steaks. One may be a bit small. But, you'll never want to get another cut.

I believe it to be the best cut of meat on the entire cow. It is reliably tender and extremely flavorful.

I made rum and lime juice-soaked strawberries rolled in sugar... Tastes kind of like a strawberry daiquiri :)

Wow! This brings back some memories.

My grandmother would make a short rib ragu back in the day. I used to LOVE it. I would get FAR too big of a bowl, because if you didn't, it was gone. Leftovers were not a possibility, regardless of how much she made.

You've got me salivating. Maybe I will dig out her old recipe and make some.
