I reckon the Dallas memes are getting a bit old, but I had such high hopes for the Cowboys this year

No matter what the front office just said in support of Mike McCarthy. I do believe that by Thanksgiving he'll be in the unemployment line. Unless he's got a line on Jerry Jones like Jason Garrett obviously did  . Jerry's ego won't let this go on much longer at all without someone paying a price.

It's kind of like poetic justice in a way concerning Lord Jerry. Because the Cowboys were declining in this same fashion back when he fired Tom Landry. A sin I've never yet forgiven Jerry for. Reaping what he sowed maybe????

Firing Tom Landry was the best thing that ever happened to Jerry Jones. Jerry got 3 rings and a 5 billion dollar franchise out of it.

And that was a direct result of firing a living legend  ????? Really!!!??? How did that work  ??
Because Mr Landry was a Superbowl winner too.

Everybody's time comes JD! Tough to argue with SG on that one. Those numbers speak for themselves.

But what's to say that Landry couldn't have had results like that with the resources the Jerry Jones provided to Jimmy Johnson.
I guess what really made me angry more than anything was the blatant, disrespectful way he did it. He could have at least moved Tom Landry to a Front Office job like the Minnesota Vikings did for Bud Grant.

But to literally discard the guy like an empty beer can was not the right way to handle it in my opinion. Especially the guy that made the Cowboys the icon of professional football. They did get the name "America's Team" under the leadership of Tom Landry>> but so few people seem to remember that one.

When Landry was fired he hadn't won a Superbowl in 10 years... It was time to go. 2 rings in 28 years... It was time to try a modern coach.

Shucks, Ive said it before ( and just my opinion )
Those Jimmy Johnson Cowboys teams were the best I've saw. I also feel that was Jerry's worst mistake in loosing Jimmy Johnson. He really could coach and put together a team!

What might I ask was wrong with Herschel Walker? Oh I know he wasn't the running back that Tony Dorsett was but he was far from being the worst running back I've ever seen.

And I realize that Emmitt Smith was also a better back as well. But Herschel Walker was a great athlete IMO. The Cowboys were probably not a good fit for him and his style of running. I won't argue that.

Nah man, I would rather have Emmitt, honestly.
Hershel was a great running back, no doubt.
If I had my choice at that time, it would be Bo Jackson.

If Jimmy and Jerry weren't so hard-headed who knows how many Superbowls they could've won together. Egos got in the way. And now Cowboys fans are left to wander the wilderness for 40 years...

I was saying that Herschel Walker trade is the main reason the Cowboys were able to create that dynasty in the 90's. Props to them for pulling it off!

And that was another case of blatant disrespect if you ask me. How could anyone justify firing a guy that handed you two Superbowl victories  >> that's just arrogance taken to another level in my opinion. That even goes beyond being a total control freak. Because Jimmy Johnson was a really decent guy and a very dedicated coach as well.

I do think MAC makes a great case that all the other NFL teams were happy that a potential dynasty self imploded. It's also a classic case of "pride before the fall". I've wondered that if on "Judgement Day" that Jerry Jones would have the nerve to argue with God who is the best. I've often wondered if he is actually that arrogant, Over the years he has certainly shown signs of it >> When it's all said and done I don't think I really want to know the answer to that question either.
