If I might make a suggestion to an entry level AR15, then consider the Great Lakes Firearms and Ammunition AR15. They actually have them at the Sportsmansguide for $740 if your a member - also if your a member you can use the 4 pay plan. But, my point is the reviews are fantastic! Seems like a very, very, solid AR15. As a matter of fact, I ordered one myself and hope to have it this Friday.

I'll keep it in mind! May be a little bit until I decide on one. I have a buddy who just got a Smith and Wesson AR, hoping to go shoot it soon!

I've been hunting for 9mm ammo right now. Got a box with the gun, got another box at another store today that had 3 boxes, but I could only get one. I'll probably have to hit up a few other towns. I don't want a lot, just enough to have some fun at the range and some for home. Hopefully the supply will be better soon!

I got 1 box of 50 for $15, the other for $30 (115gr and 124gr fmj). No way I'm paying $1 a round just to plink!
I can be patient, and I have buddies I can buy some from :D

If things go this administrations way you won't have the option of buying online and inexpensive ammo will not be back anytime soon. That is why people are willing to pay even more than a dollar a round now.

Fear mongering imo. It's like people saying the gas is going up because of the administration change...well, any time there is a change things go wonky for a bit but do settle down. The gas didn't go up for any reason except the suppliers holding back supply. Ammo shortage happens because of record number of people getting into guns and people hoarding. Supply will come back, prices will come down. I can be patient.

I'm pretty sure he's just referring to the stated, public, policy objectives of the incoming administration. Eliminating on line purchases is one of the stated objectives, so it's technically correct to say that if 'things go this administrations way you won't have the option of buying online..."

So, no one has an XCR?

Well my budget AR15 came today. The Great Lakes Firearms & Ammunition Co.
So far, I'm really impressed! Upper and lower are both 7075-T6. The barrel is 16" 4150 steel ( should last a long time ) The trigger feels really good too!
I'll keep yall posted the further I go along.
Edit- barrel is free floating as well

Thanx Tom.
Actually its .223 Wylde. So, best of both worlds.
They also make 350 Legend and 450 Bushmaster
They make some really nice flip up sights too, to include 45° off set as well.

Very nice setup . I don't have experience with the 223 Wylde. Is that pretty much reloading only? Should last a long time the way it's built. Those type muzzle devices are loud even with plain 223/5.56 .

I made the mistake of having a day at the range with nothing but basic cheap foam plugs about 25 years ago. I shot mostly 223 and 357 but did get to play around with a 378 and 460 weatherby amongst other stuff including a vintage Sten 9mm SMG. I couldn't hear right for about a week. :)

Thanx Joe.
No, the 223 Wylde will accept either 223 or 5.56, thats all.
I'll try and shoot it this week and report back.
Everyone says they shoot really well.

I'm looking forward to hearing how that does. My guess is you are going to like it. :)

And, it shows how much I don't know about the 223 Wylde. I'm going to do some reading later on it.

Be safe.

Don't feel like the lone ranger :D
I don't know squat about the Wylde either man.
Although, my Armalite M15 is chambered in it as well.

I've been wanting to buy a birthday gun but not much seems to be in stock. I stopped by a Fleet Farm and looked at a P365 and it is too small for me. I'd like to get the XL version.
