Tell ya what guys, this CZ Bren 805 PS1 /ACR stock is super nice imo. Huge difference between the ACR stock and the STB805 folding brace.
Now, for what it is, the STB805 folding brace is great. It really is imo. But, that ACR or either Bren 805 folding stock puts it on another level.
This will of course be an SBR. I'm also gonna SBR my FDE version which both will be passed down to my daughter. Which is really why I bought another Bren PS1. I also have some spare parts for each in case. CZ isn't the best for supporting their Brens. Not even the new 2MS models. Anyways, I'm gonna get her squared away on everything about this Bren.

Whatever the last one was, I hope it didn’t shoot steel case ammo.

Edit
I see. It's not really that good. Shortens barrel life/or certainly can. Glad I've never used it.

I was mostly referring to the newly announced ban on Russian ammo, most of which is steel cased.

It can shorten barrel life and one of my rifles won’t run it very well, jamming about 1/10 rounds. The other won’t shoot it very well but it runs ok. I was considering a Ruger or CZ bolt gun in 7.62 x 39, but no point in that now.

I’ve shot tons of steel case. It has its place.

Even if you don’t like steel case or shoot it, this ban will be raising the prices of brass ammo even more. It is going to effect everybody who enjoys shooting.

My main objection to steel cased ammo was that it was not reloadable,
primarily because they used Berdan primers which have two, off center flash holes.
Only a masochist would bother to try to deprime Berdan primers.

Back in the bad old days, Berdan primers were corrosive.
SKS barrels were chrome lined for that reason.
Modern ammunition does not use corrosive primers, including Berdan,
and almost all are Boxer primed, a single central flash hole.

Also, a steel case is not as malleable as brass and therefore not as easy to resize.
For that reason, the barrel erosion from steel cased ammo is the result of the case
not forming a seal in the chamber as does a softer brass case.

But one would have to shoot many thousands of rounds.
With ammunition prices today, not likely.

Not exactly my last gun, but a new configuration:
My Custom Ruger American Compact AI-Style "Patrol" Rifle / Truck Gun.

This is one of the early Compact rifles with the 16 inch barrel.
(Ruger Compact rifles today have an 18 inch barrel.)

When I ordered a Ruger American 6.5 Creedmoor with a four round flush mount magazine
to ensconse in a Magpul American Hunter stock,
they shipped me a 6.5 CM with the AI-style stock instead.
Woo hoo! What a pleasant surprise.

The Accuracy International Chassis System (AICS or AI) magazine format
has become a standard detachable magazine for military rifles
and also been adopted by a number of manufacturers of bolt action rifles for civilians.

I promptly installed the Green New Deal stock
on my faithful 243 coyote terminator
and ordered two 10 round mags from Magpul.

Ruger offers the AI-style magwell stock on a few of their American rifles, but not the Compact.
So to the best of my knowledge, this is the only
Ruger American Compact Rifle that rocks AI-style magazines and 10+1 capacity.

The AI-style stock only adds a few ounces
to the original 1.3 pound Compact stock.
But then there is all that heavy ammo. Feels good.

A Ruger rail replaced the old scope mounts and allowed me to move
my little Redfield Revolution 2-7x33mm Riflescope with Accu-Range Reticle
farther back to accommodate the one inch longer length of pull.
The Compact had a 13 inch pull for... precision sized shooters.

The rail also provides an attachment point for an offset accessory rail
and varmint light that I already have.

The Rhodesian Sling is carried over from my old stock.
More about the 6.5 Creedmoor later.

I've come close to pulling the trigger on a Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 with a 16" barrel. If you're into target shooting, the 223/5.56 makes so much sense. It's very accurate, has range out to 600 yards, is easily reloaded for more accuracy, and uses light bullets and relatively small amounts of powder, keeping cost down. The Ranch takes AR magazines too, so one magazine will last me 4 or 5 trips to the range in a bolt action. I keep passing it up, saying I'd rather have the 22" barrel Predator model, but it only chambers in 223. I don't want to accidentally buy and/or load the wrong thing in the chamber.

That reminds me, did you know that 243 will almost chamber in a 220 Swift?
Don't ask me how I know that, but I understand where you are coming from.

Let me add, AR magazines will not work in the AI-style Ruger American Rifles.
Only AI pattern magazine for bolt action rifles will work.
They are available in 5 or 10 round single stack magazines.
High capacity 20 or 30 round AI magazines for AR15s or AR10s will not work.
Don't ask me how I know that, either.

Ruger makes one that takes AI mags and one that takes AR mags. I have thought about getting one many times. I would use it for Coyote.

I stand corrected. Let me see if I can get this right.

The mini-action Ruger American Ranch .223 can use AR mags.

The Ruger American Predator is available in .223 and can use AR mags.

The Ruger American Predator for short action cartridges such as
the .308, .243 and 6.5 Creedmoor use AI-style single stack magazines
but not AR magazines.

A further note on magazines:
The original short-action AI-style Magpul five round magazine with the green follower
did not always work well with the 6.5 CM.
The current Magpul five round AI-style magazine with the brown follower
has been optimized to work well for all three cartridges.
The Magpul short-action ten round magazine with the green follower
for the .308 and .243, has not been modified for 6.5 CM.

The main reason I changed from .243 on my Compact
to 6.5 CM on the Predator was because the 6.5 CM Predator has a threaded barrel.
The .243 does not.

Texas passed a suppressor law that would allow a suppressor entirely made in Texas,
sold in Texas and possessed in Texas to skirt the NFA $200 suppressor tax stamp.
Something about Interstate Commerce and the Constitution.
If it holds up in Texas, I plan to get one. If it fails, I'll probably get one anyway and pay the tax.

Suppressors make so much sense for hunting. It’s crazy they are subject to such stern regulation. It will be awesome if Texas can do that. I’d expect cottage shops in every state by the end of the week.

Man, it just makes no sense that suppressors are an NFA item - same thing for short barreled rifles!
I mean, they're not even fully automatic.

Same reason I am reluctant to have a 300 BO & 223 at the same time. I have my can of CFE Pistol taped shut with yellow tape whenever I have CFE 223 in the reloading room.
