Btw, I think I scored pretty dang good on some .22LR ammo yesterday.
I was coming back home from Asheville yesterday & noticed that I had some extra time, so I stopped off at a Gun Shop my brother in law goes to. After browsing a little while, I noticed some Magtech .22LR ammo, a 500 round count (in a big pill bottle) for $20 otd - no tax either! Reg price was $49 - so, I bought 4,000 rounds - came to $160
That's. 04 cents per round. I'm kind wishing I had bought 10,000 rounds. But, I've got plenty of .22LR ammo already. & it would've cost me $400 for 10k rounds. It was a Black Friday deal the owner said.
So, keep your eyes peeled - you may find a great bargain.
That's a pretty good deal! It's basically plinking ammo but it should be better than the usual plinking stuff and much cheaper. About the cheapest I've bought lately is about $40/brick but I don't really want to use it for plinking.

This weekend I attended the Wanenmacher Tulsa Arms Show. If you're not familiar it's the mother of all gun shows. They say it's nearly impossible to see the whole thing but I managed to do it. I walked over 5 miles yesterday and 4 miles Friday. I saw all kinds of nice rifles and handguns that are on my bucket list
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

Thanks man! Ya know, I may have forgot to mention that it included tax as well. It was 4 cents per round out the door. Or it actually said, $20 for a 500 round bottle OTD. & sure enough, it was.

My goodness would I LOVE to attend that show!
You did some serious walking! But, I would too. That's totally worth it.

Ok I know this is for guns but found this ammo deal.

200 rnds of Sierra Outdoor 124gr 9mm hollow point for $99 with free shipping. What is better is with the mail in rebate you can get $50 sent back to you so 200 rounds for $50. It is not the greatest ammo in the world but at about .25/rnd it is a good deal.

Been wanting to check out and try some new carry ammo, I've been a Speer Gold Dot and Federal HST fan for as long as I can remember...

Bought 200 rounds of Underwood 124gr +P 9mm and a 100 rounds of their 180gr .40 S&W. Both of these use Nosler's Assured Stopping Power (ASP) JHP bullets. We'll see...have heard and read nothing but great things about Underwood ammo!

Oh benben........I've been using Underwood for years now, & it's hands down the best imo.
& that's absolutely no disrespect to HST & Gold Dot, as Underwood uses Gold Dots in some of their ammo as well as Nosler as you mentioned. But, the most devastating ammo I've found is their Xtreme Defender series. I have it in .357 Magnum,.38 Special & .45 Auto
I also really love their Bonded JHP ammo, which I have in .357 Magnum both 125 & 158 grains
This has the Speer Gold Dots in them.
& with Underwood, whatever they state is the fps & ft lbs is usually a bit slower than what they actually are! Underwood is just freakin phenomenal imo.
I've also got their 85grain Extreme Cavitator for my M1 as well as Controlled Chaos in .308 both 152gr & 175 grains..talk about mean .308 ammo, that's it!
Anyway, I know you'll love it. It's hot as helll
Below is .357 Magnum Xtreme Hunter 120 grain 1700 fps & 770 ft lbs

Thanks Paul. Yeah I did a ton of reading up and video watching on their Xtreme Defender & Xtreme Penetrator rounds, looks like some seriously devastating ammo! Guess I'm old school and a little worried to move to such low low weights?

The .357 magnum 158gr Bonded JHP (Gold Dot)1500 fps & 790 ft lbs
The .38 special xtreme defender 100 gr (1200 fps)
The .357 magnum 125gr Bonded JHP (Gold Dot) 1700 fps & 802 ft lbs
The 85gr xtreme cavitator for an M1 (30cal) 2,150 fps

I hear ya. But, I shoot a model 27-2 & I'm not worried about it, plus it's not like u shoot this stuff a lot. More like just a little if any at all. It's super expensive. But, no doubt as to its power and potency- I don't worry about it.
But, whenever I go somewhere that I feel the need to carry, like on vacation or a long trip of some sorts - I carry those xtreme defenders.

It sure is hard to keep up with you youngsters.
I always relied on lead poisoning.

Not a new gun but a Tipton Best Gun Vise.

Initially I built this bench for reloading.
Then decided I no longer did enough shooting to bother with it
and gave all my reloading equipment to a favored nephew.

Instead it will be used for gunsmithing.
Now I have no excuse for not cleaning my firearms.
But I'm sure I will think of something.

Germans just ooze quality and my HKs just run and run. I'm an Underwood fan, but I've also come to like Buffalo Bore Hard cast +p in .45 that hung out with me in Yellowstone and back. Very stout for sure. 13 rounds of hard cast +p versus 6 rounds of .44 mag in my super red hawk, I went with capacity and the gun I'm more confidant with. Saw both Griz and Black bears, but kept our distance.
