I'm really excited about this one, the blade shape looks extremely versatile and 4.2" is just about perfect in a field fixed blade for me.

Since it was my first "pre-order" I had to get a little crazy with the handle combo; I'm hoping it shows up by the end of the week!

I thought about ordering the UP EDC, but I bought too many knives recently - I'm going to hold out for my NC EDC and my ULB.

That is a super cool blade shape though - great for spreading peanut butter I'm sure!

Thanks, I think so too! It's terracotta burlap, yellow liners and hollow brass pins.

Thanks! Yeah, I really enjoy A2 as well. Having tried Cruwear, 3V, Elmax & CPM-154 from BRK this will actually be my first knife in A2 from them.

A2 has been great in knives I have from LTWK. It's tough, holds a polished edge well against wood/soft materials, is very easy to get hair popping sharp, and in my uses, corrosion hasn't been an issue. It develops a nice patina relatively quickly and overall is a pretty fantastic steel for an outdoor/camp knife.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I also have A2 in an EDC sized fixed blade. And while I love the knife, I did find that it needed touching up more often than I would have liked (at least while carried daily for work). So I guess I prefer higher edge retention in an EDC sized blade, but greater than 4", A2 is good to go.

I just remembered that I do have A2 from BRK in a Golok II, it's perfect in that role.

The Teddy II's really nice, did you put it through much use? I've never tried a large knife with pommel & guard...

No sir, I used her a little bit but, not hard at all.
I just know she got really sharp really fast.

Ditto, but I bet it won't be as hard as Spyderco. I think BRK values toughness a lot more.

No timeline, but if you check out the Production Schedule you can see that the knives are cut out already.

I am sure they are using Larrins formula, isn’t it like 62-64 hrc? I’ve got a couple MC knives being finished for Christmas and they are being ran at 63/64.

Perhaps in time. DLT did the Bravo Clip as an exclusive, perhaps they'll do a ULB Clip too.

DBK (Dutch Buschraft Knives) made a video about Magnacut not so long ago, they are gonna be thrilled to see a Bark River sporting that steel !

We got a fire pit last week, and I picked up a few stumps from a local who had some tree work done. Figured it was a great time to work on my feather sticks!



I'll tell you one thing, a nice convex edge sure helps, but there's still a fair amount of skill involved in making a good feather stick. I tried my three Barkies, as well as my LTWK, and I found out of these four I was most successful making finer, longer, more consistent feathers with my Bravo 1.25 LT. Perhaps something about the length, and something about the level of control afforded by the robust handle.

Also just a great opportunity to stage some photos.
