Those are super nice SG! Someday I'd like to get a Bark River. I've been thinking about EDC'ing a small fixed blade for awhile just for fun and some of the BR knives look like they'd be great for that role.

SG, they make a ton of models. Would you mind identifying them?

What is the small one with the wood handle?

Do you like the convex grind?

I edited them and added the model names now. I actually like the convex grind for working with wood. You can beat the **** out of it and it won't chip as easy as other grinds (in my experience). Just a nice change of pace from FFG

Bark River Mountain Man. A five inch blade that is like 2.2mm stock and ground quite thin.

Some really nice knives there.

No Bark Rivers here though I’ve been looking at the Kephart and then saw pictures of Killer’s Mountain Man a while back which I think I’d like better.

I would like to hear how best to sharpen convex edges should anyone care to elaborate. :)

Ive never been one to consider, or even be able to legally carry a fixed blade besides when camping so I haven't really given them much thought. These are some beautiful knives you guys/gal have posted. So I just looked them up...quite pricey!! Makes me wish I had a use for them, I'd get at least one to try it out! Love those handles.

The Mountain Man model reminds me of my grandparents old kitchen knives. They are carbon steel with heavy patina, wooden handles and that general blade shape above but due to 80 years of sharpening not by design. Kind of a sleeper design IMO, underrated

Price has been a bit of a hurdle for me, Rick. Not that I think they’re over priced but with our dollar the way it is, shipping costs, 10% Goods and Services tax we now pay plus some other BS transfer fee, they become a bit of a luxury item.

Either ways I’ll fold sooner or later and buy a Mountain Man at least. :)
