Brexit

#1

Post by shunsui »

Was surprised to be reminded Brexit is today. Not a lot of talk about Brexit between the Impeachment and the Super Bowl. Should be a lot of coverage on the BBC channels.
Should happen at 3 pm Pacific Time (11 p.m. GMT on 31 January 2020) with the coverage starting around 11 am if the channel listings are accurate.

Just a head's up if anyone's interested.

FWIW, I'm not convinced that this will have the intended effect for the UK, but I am cautiously happy to see that the voters managed to stick to their guns and didn't just roll over. So much of the news coming out of the UK demonstrates the political classes assuming complete autocracy, and that's not good news.
If the old guard can't show the voters that they know how to stay relevant (and I don't mean keeping up with buzzwords the academics and economists bandy about) then we should expect this kind of shakeup.
