Corona Virus, Chinese Origin, Now In the USA

#1

Post by JD Spydo »

I'm sure by now most of you have heard the news on the virulent strain of a "corona virus" that has now hit the continental USA. In the past I've had worries of a "superbug" or even a possibility of a micro biological terror attack occurring in the USA. Not at all saying that is what this new strain of virus is but I am saying not to take it lightly. So far by today's date there have only been two documented cases of this illness showing up in the USA.

It really doesn't matter how this "superbug" has manifested but it is a valid concern that we be informed and prepared to take caution. People with weakened immune systems or people that already have other health concerns really should be very much aware of the potential of this virus that has appeared here in the USA. I don't want to see anything like this show up in anyone's country for that matter. The problem with such a bug showing up in the USA is that we are such a mobile society and we probably travel more than any other country on the planet>> which would make it ideal for this ailment to potentially spread like wildfire.

I'm hoping that there might be some of you here on the forum that might be in the health care profession who could shed more light on this subject. Hopefully there might even be someone here with some expertise on "micro-biology" who also could share some vital information with us.

But I do feel it's very important for us to be prepared just in case this bug would show up at hospitals near where many of us live. I do welcome any input and/or tips on how to be prepared.

I have been watching it.

China locked down the whole city were it started and or is.

Thankfully I don't go out that much these days.

Stock up on food and supplies just incase, long term food (Survival food), get at least a 3 month supply.

Get water storage containers just incase and fill them up making sure to prepare them correctly before filling.

Keep hand sanitizer handy and or alcohol and bleach to wipe things down with.

A.
Its not as good as it should be but the cdc is actually pretty good at their jobs. Although we should adopt some practices done in other places.

B.
Were you this worried for sars, or h1n1, or h1n5? Are you worried for the regular flu which takes out plenty of people every year as well. Are you worried about eating undercooked seafood?

C.
Statistically speaking, the most dangerous thing you do is drive in your car. (Ignoring heart disease stuff but the driving one is a more random occurence for daily life.)

Point Im making is, you gotta go live anyway, **** happens, soldier on. It will probably be allright. And if its not allright... work towards the good.

It's the natural course of things. Look throughout history, there have been and always will be plagues. The only difference now is that we're fortunate enough to live during an age where medicine has a chance of saving us. This sort of virus just a couple years ago would have been devastating.

That would be save us after awhile to be correct...

It takes time, months to get a vaccine after they figure out how to make it and enough of it.

If they can actually make one...

Some good points to be considered "VooDooChold" ;) I love your analogy of how many deaths and horrid injuries that result from the careless use of Vehicular transportation. I always tell all these "gun & knife control nut cases" that hundreds of times more people lose their lives from cars, trucks, buses and to some degree railroad trains than do with the misuse of guns or knives.

No I'm not over-reacting to this. But I do feel that there is something really nefarious about this onslaught of this new virus that the authorities are not letting us in on. My main thrust of this thread is for as many people to be prepared and be cautious and careful as they can be. Knowing about a problem in many cases is half of solving the problem.

The really bad part about this thing from what I have been reading is:

It's airborne..

It's very highly contagious.

And it is also spread by contact, as in touching something that another has touched.

The best thing people can do (civilians) is to do the things I posted.

Try and stay away from people as much as you can for now, just incase.

If you do go out shopping etc make sure you have wipes or hand sanitizer with you and wipe things down and your hands.

Don't touch your face...

The "airborne" aspect of this does give me the creeps. The other night I was listening to a guy named Steve Quayle on one of his Brighteon.com videos.
The video was about Ebola and other viruses that they have aerosolized as bioweapons. And he had all kinds of advice on how to protect against such an onslaught. He said that many of these viruses are weaponized.

Ok I know that's going a bit off the main topic but it's still something to be aware of in case of a total outbreak. And I'm hoping to GOD none of that happens at all and that they get this problem under control ASAP.

This will probably be the most "tin foil hat" thing I've ever posted here, but I think most of these new viruses are man made.

I don't believe that they are, if they were it would be much worse. Worse than you can imagine.... Like the Movie... The Stand...

I know quite a lot about this subject as it was one of my specialties in the Military.

Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Weapons Specialist.

So if they engineered it, would be deadly, like 99% mortality rate, kill very fast, within a few days, no antidote and it would spread like wildfire and be able to stay in the open air for a long time.

Well, if they originate due to terrible livestock practices (china) then they sort of are.

US population ~ 327 million. Two confirmed coronavirus cases in the US.
Chinese population ~ 1.3 billion. 830 sickened, 26 dead due to coronavirus in China.

Out of all the things that I have to be worried about today, Kung Flu is not one of them. Don't think it'll bother me tomorrow either..

That is a great point. And being there are only two documented cases here in the USA and relatively few in China I do get that completely. I think however what we are concerned with in the "potential" of a virus like this one. It also has the potential of spreading at a rapid, exponential rate as well.

But your point is well taken and probably at this time the mathematical odds of any of us being infected at this time are probably less that one percent. But again it's the potential of such a bug that one just can't ignore IMO.

Yeah I probably have a thousand times more potential of being hit by a car today than catching this new virus. But again as mobile as our society is here in the USA the potential of this virus of spreading person to person can't be ignored either. I would much rather be laughed at for being overly concerned that to just ignore the problem all together. But once more your point is well taken :)

For now.... ;)

So far they have kept it somewhat contained.

Something to keep an eye on.

This is something I’ve quietly considered for a long time; new viruses being created in labs and put among certain “test” populations as experiments in weaponized viruses, and also just for them to see how it progresses/spreads. Then it’s touted in the news as some natural virus that has mysteriously “mutated” to spread to humans.

True...but there’s so much dishonesty and underhandedness/clandestine stuff that does go on, who knows? And whoever might be responsible (if anyone actually is) can rely on anybody who might consider it man made to then think, “Nah...can’t be. That’s what those conspiracy weirdos would think.” ;)

They already have the weapons, have had them for decades. ;)

So it's not like they have to test them....

Believe me, if one was used it would be very obvious and already too late by the time it actually hit the news. ;)

I mean its easy to agree with everyone else and say the guy in the tin foil hat is crazy but, have you ever gone home and made one and put it on? Have you tested for yourself to see if mind controll rays really are being broadcasted?

PUT ON THE GLASSES.

lol, is that in the fight scenes thread yet?
