How do Victorinox's serrations compare to Spyderco's?

I've been carrying the Camper along side the Hawkbill for the last few days.

The victorinox blade is so thin and not very hard so the serrations break off easier than on a spyderco in my experiences

Thanks, that was my biggest concern.

My daddy always had a Swiss Champ. I used to love playing with knife and all the neat stuff it had.

I've had a couple over the years, and still have a gray frame mag glass model from the late 80s. When pictured alone, they look huge. They're actually not bad to pocket carry at all, especially when you consider all the tools you get. Great comparison pic Spydergirl!

MacLaren, you're going to love the Spirit! Don't let the shine fool you. That's one tough Multitool!

I'll have to get the few that I have right now together. Honestly, I've tried to avoid getting into Victorinox because of the potential rabbit hole to fall into. :D There are just so many cool models to choose from!

I thought this was a "Rambler" model, but it seems to have a couple more tools than the Ramblers I find when I search around.

Do you still have this? Please pm me πŸ˜ƒ

I just found the bag of Victorinoxes I've accumulated over the years for sharpening practice - do these do well with thinner edges?

What were you cutting that broke the serrations?

A very small ziptie, about an 1/8 inch wide. Something I've used a se Ladybug on several times and had zero chipping.

I've had good luck with serrated Vic blades, but a fair amount of my usage could easily be accomplished with a Classic so I've not stressed mine very much.

Sharpening choil?

No. Other end of the blade. I just tweaked the shape more to my liking. Subtle, but more point, less bullnose. Before and after shot...

Inspired by someone’s vintage Spartan on Bladeforums, I had to have a couple wee clip points...
