Aluminum Bat Shaped Flashlights: Good Self Defense tool or not?

#1

Post by SpyderEdgeForever »

I have noticed an increase in ads for flash lights shaped like aluminum baseball bats. While anyone who carries something for self protection is often told not to say "I carry this for self defense", what are your opinions and advice on this as a real-world self protection item? Would it work as claimed or is it too unwieldly and would it break apart or something? And what would some legal implications likely be if a person was out walking and had one and was attacked and they defended themselves and clobbered the attacker with it?

Here is an example:

" LED 350-Lumen Baseball Bat Light

Made of durable aluminum material
3 hour run time
Includes 4 AA batteries

Anything is better than nothing, but I don't think that is going to be too effective. It does not weigh enough. Try a MagLight with 4 D Cell batteries.
