Talking about your traditional knives

I have a new found love of traditional knives and patterns, especially slip joints. They are the pocket knives I grew up with and used most of my life. Last year I discovered Great Eastern Cutlery and learned their philosophy of reproducing traditional American patterns with the same tools and techniques as the old cutlers did, and with astounding quality for hand made knives.
I will be posting here about my traditionals with photos. If you have some you like, I’d like to hear about them.

prepare for the onslaught of traditionals.
I've got some great green bones, some funky acrylics, a particularly photogenic Katz Stockman, and some knotty stag that I've been dying to show off.

I've got a busy weekend, but I'll try and make some time to take some pics of some of my favorites.

Hi do you like the Pemberton two blade. I have the single and thinking about the 2 blade. Is the small coping blade useful?

If I remember right, it's a #63. It's actually a spey blade, not a sheepsfoot. I've heard it called the best folding skinner ever made. I wouldn't know about that myself, but it is an interesting piece.

Yes, that is really the only blade on it I use haha.
I'm not a big fan of that style of spear. They're pretty thick, especially around the tip and the tip isn't supper pointy. I would have preferred a clip point with the small coping. Small coping blades are very useful though, especially for amateur whittlers like me.

Just ordered one of these for a great price. New old stock in box. Winchester-branded, Queen made in the late '80s back when Bill Howard was running production.
Teardrop Dogleg Jack is an odd yet compelling pattern.

Those old Schrades are great users. It is really cool that you can still get NOS US made ones for the same price as the new Chinese ones. I've got plenty of fancy traditionals with pretty bone, stag, and wood but there's something awesome about Schrades' sawcut delrin. It does it for me. Will take an old Schrade over a new Case most days.

Knivesandbooks, went ahead and got the 2 blade Tidioute while it is still available. I like spear blades and the coping blade will serve as well as that wharncliffe.

The two blade feels better in the hand, too.
I wasn't too interested in the Pembertons but now I ended up with 6. Fell in love with them. Both of the blue bone blade configurations, both of the stag blade configurations, and both of the Templars.

DLT has a bunch of stag Northfields in 2 blade configuration. Almost got one of those. Probably should.
Edit** I just ordered an 06 stag Northfield. They are going fast
Got a Jigged 82 Possum Skinner coming. Looks like that one along with an 06 or a 25 will be my edc knives. I’ll post some photos later.

Good call! My main carry knives lately have been the Northfield jigged 82 Dixie Stockman for work (most useful Stockman I have) and the blue bone 06 two blade paired with the micarta 82 Possum Skinner for not at work. The blades are ground exceptionally thin on the Possum Skinner. I think someone got a like .009 to a .01 BTE measurment in theirs, if I recall correctly. I've been having to force myself to carry other knives. Well, I only carry the 06 when wearing jeans so I can put it in the coin pocket, so that is more of a weekend thing. I would like to find a slip small enough for the 06.
Can't wait to see you stag, post pics. I'm okay with the stag on my 2 blade. It isn't bad but not astounding, but the stag on my single blade is awesome.
