Yea I thought that was a bit strange about Bumgarner...not wanting to play for a bunch of pretty solid, contending teams. If not, then stick with your garbage Giants haha!

I think with this new trade "deadline" that teams will begin selling mode sooner than we're use to. I could see Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto, Oakland, SF Giants, Reds and others looking for prospects just to add to the rebuilding.

As I see it the Brew Crew have a plethora of mashers who would make nice DH's in the American League. Something like Thames/Aguilar/Shaw and some prospects for someone like Stroman from The Blue-Jays or Minor/Lynn from the Rangers. Twins are small market too and they made some small moves that have revitalized the whole team and fanbase.

my elementary baseball question...

was watching the SD@SF highlights of yesterdays 6-12-19 game, and SD has a guy at third with 2 away. batter grounds out at first but the third base runner scores - did he have to cross home before the throw to first?

What has happened to Altanta? They suddenly woke up and now are leading the East!

That's a very dangerous team in my opinion. I can see them winning the division over the Phillies, so much young talent just exploding on that team!

Yes it was! Caught it from the top of the 8th. You've got to feel great about that team! Things are really clicking now.

Lol, ya know I dont wanna jinx it, but when we got Dallas Keukel
( not sure if last name is correct) but I got excited then.
But, then again, the night before we let Philly score 2 runs in the top of the 9th to let Philly win by 1.
That has to stop....

Swept the Pirates and now crushed the Phillies!

Yup. But, if they are the same Atlanta that they have been, we will get beat by sub .500 teams. Like tomorrow when we face Wheeler and the Mets.
I'm hoping we can turn the page...

Lol, I hear ya! :D
Heck, Chipper named one of his sons after Shea, the stadium they used to play in, because of all the success he had there.
Chipper was THE MET KILLER :D
Those were some great and funny games.
Chippers real name is Larry Wayne Jones.
When at Shea, and eventually Citi Field, the N.Y. fans would chant, " Larry,Larry,Larry, and laugh , lol.... :D

That's what I love about sports, the rivalries and jabs at one another, all in good fun!

Speaking of JABS, I loved the recent back and forth banter between MacLaren's boy Madbum and Max Muncy..."Go get it out of the ocean" was an epic retort!

Madbum and Puig had some hate going on as well.

The chanting of "Daryl, Daryl" everywhere that Daryl Strawberry went was epic as far as fans berating a player.

Lol, yeah I saw that between Bum and Muncy.
Muncy got the best of him. No doubt.
Of course, it's the freakin Dodgers/Giants!! That's a tremendous rivalry in itself!
My Aunt and Uncle were from California. Big Bear, to be exact.
Aunt Betty was Dodger Blue, Uncle Dale S.F. Giants all the way.
Lol, Uncle Dale despised Tommy Lasorda.
I used to love watching the Dodgers under Lasorda.
Lol, the last time I saw Tommy Lasorda was the 2012 All Star game in which he got nailed with a fould ball. Scared the living **** out of everyone until they knew he was alright. After that Chipper and the boys on the NL side had a great time with that lol!! The next inning they sent Tommy out to coach 3rd in full catcher's equipment. Was so funny.....

Tommy rubbed folks the wrong way but he was a heck of a coach! Always reminded me of my dad and they would pass for brothers until they spoke at least :) Same roly poly shape and white hair and general gruff.
