Since we can actually fill out our ballots for the all star game, any of you fine folks gonna vote? I usually will vote a few times for some of my favorite players..

watching commercial free condensed game videos on mlb.com again...

question - do they do intentional walks differently now? or do they still have to throw to the side - catcher extends arm - steps that way and catches walk pitch to the side.

also, returning to the video replay challenges - what is the limit per game that each side has?
Yep now you can just tell the ump and the player will just trot on down to 1st.

One challenge over the first six innings of games and two from the seventh inning until the end of the game. I think if you are correct it doesn't count.
thanks!

I'll be honest, I haven't voted in the last couple of years.
I always try and vote for Freddie Freeman and, always voted for Chipper when he played. As well as Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux. :D
I may vote this year...

Yelich, Moustakas, Cain, Davies, Woodruff and Hader! I may be a bit bias, but these guys are having a great year. Especially Cain's defense. Give that man a gold glove!!

What are your opinions on the reach of nets in baseball games for safety? I know some people go to games hoping to catch a foul ball.

They have to do something. That poor girl at the Cubs/Astros game could have been killed by that foul ball. I'd rather ensure the safety of everyone attending a game over catching a foul ball. That's one thing about baseball...ALL ages attend games. Infants -folks in their 90's. if your sitting on the 1st or 3rd base lines, you have to be aware the entire game. Infants/toddlers and the elderly have much slower reaction times. Even a healthy college aged kid not paying attention could hear the crack of the ball on the bat and before he knows it he's on the ground unconscious. It happens that quickly.

How good has rookie Austin Riley been? 9 homers and 25 rbi's in 18 games! Epic

A lot of young talent on that team! If they can keep them together for a while, could be very dangerous in years to come.

Fun to watch no matter what team, he mashed at every level and crazy rates. AAA numbers were .391 with 13 homers in his last 18 games, can to Atlanta and is still hot!

Wish the Crew hadn't sent back down Keston to the minors he was killing it as well!

Speaking of the "youth" movement Cody Bellinger's WAR is 5.6! Closest to him right now is Mike Trout at 4.1! Crazy start to the year but quite entertaining!

I hear ya Larry! Lets send a kid batting .281 and just had a game winning 3 run homerun a few days prior back to the minors and let some scrub that has been batting .163 back into the lineup. Keston was really starting to get it together, that was shocking...but not nearly as shocking as losing at home 16-0 to the lowly Marlins. That hurt last night.

Yeah that turned ugly. One of those games you send out your 3rd string catcher to pitch to save your bullpen for the next day. Should use the mercy rule like in little league!

Keston won't be down long.....he's too good.

Angel Hernandez is at it again. Why in the world, given is terrible record as an ump, do they keep this guy around?

I guess it's due to a union as to why he's still around. Come on robot umps! Umps can change the tempo, mood and momentum of a game and in my opinion should not have that power. There are too many "personalities" in umps/refs that is unbearable...TV teddy Valentine for instance. I pay to see the players not the umps.

At any rate, the Commissioner could can his butt, and he should.
This guy should've been canned long ago.

Well looks like the Braves just got Big time pitcher in Dallas Keuckel! They'll have a world series champ veteran to help bolster those young guns!

Weird...Brewers in DESPERATE need of pitching allow Kimbrel to go to the Cubs and then Keuckel to another NL contender or possible wild card team. So annoying we have so much talent, can score 10 runs any given day, but lack pitching and fail to address it. Small market sucks!!

Well, I keep saying the Brewers might have a shot at Bumgarner, but for now, the Brew Crew is one of the 8 teams on Bumgarners no trade list. Along with the Braves, Astros and Yankees to name a few others. 8 in all.
At any rate, hes not pitching that fantastic anyways, but we all know he has more potential than anyone.
Here's to hoping either the Brewers or Braves can maybe land him in free agency. Unless, he is traded by then.
