Hoppy Beerday good sir :)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

Thanks fellas! I had a great Bday. No new Spydies but I did get a new knife. I got a cool Carl Sagan tshirt too.

I started my day with a class on foraging wild edibles and it was excellent. I learned a lot of new things and realized that I knew more than I thought I did. I am taking another one soon.

After that I spent a couple hours swinging an axe cleaning up from the storm last week. We had no power for over 24 hours and no internet for 48 hours. A tree knocked the pole down. This hemlock blew down and was hung up in a tree and I got it down and delimbed it with my boys axe and got some good exercise. Good times! I could have used the Stihl but what fun is that?

I then ate bacon and drank beer most of the rest of the day and spent time with loved ones. Perfect day.

A local IPA with grapefruit flavors. I don't usually like fruity beers but this was very good.

Oh yeah, straight from Helsinki I got a Varusteleka Terävä Jääkäripuukko 140.

I feel like I could cut my Mora Companion in half with this thing! The sheath is very cool. It has a snap at the top that locks the knife into the sheath. With it unsnapped the retention is good and with it snapped I am not even sure if I could pull it out if I tried.

Sef, I know you like ethnic knives from around the world. I am quite fond of traditional Puukkos. Here is a rather cool video showing traditional puukko making. WOW!!! Pure craftsmanship. This video leaves me in awe.

Thank you so much for that video! I watched the entire thing, amazing and equisite craftsman ship.

Yep, infact, aside from Spyderco knives, my favorite knives in all the world are the Finnish Puukko and other Scandinavian made knives like the Moras from Sweden. That is something you and I have in common my friend. Happy Birthday once again and thank you for the gift of this video!
