Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi or what?

Soft drinks have been around for a long time. Cream Soda and Sarsaparilla have been around for a long time, even in the Old West. Dr. Pepper, invented in Texas, is a little older than Coca Cola (not by much). Soft Drinks are a huge part of American culture. In fact, in the South, you never ask what kind of soda or soft drink do you want. You say, "Do you want a coke?" If the answer is "yes" then you respond, "What kind?"

I prefer Dr. Pepper over all, but Cream Soda is second and Coke is third on my list. What kind do you all prefer?

I don't drink much soft drink at all but I'll have a lemonade from time to time. The funny thing is when I travel to hunt or fish and I stop for fuel at a truck stop which has a 1000 different soft drinks I always walk out with a small bottle of vanilla flavoured Coke. :rolleyes:

The only carbonated beverages I drink are Walmart's Clear American brand of flavored sparkling waters.

I like other drinks but since the topic is soft drinks as in carbonated drinks: Seltzer water (plain and flavored), Root Beer, and Ginger Ale. I prefer the Ginger Ale that has some actual ginger added to it, because it helps digestion and the stomach.

Moxie, Vernor's Ginger beer, Celery soda, Tonic water. Coke is great with whiskey in it!

I try to do unsweetened iced tea instead, there's way too much sugar (or HCFS) in US market soda.

Do any of you remember a canned soda called Fresca? That was a sweet one. But too much sugar.

I remember a kid in high school who considered "breakfast" to be four to five standard cans of Coca Cola. Not kidding. Like clockwork, he would bring that to school and drink it every morning.

There used to be a lot of small bottlers in the US but the big names gobbled them up. I remember brands like Virginia Dare and others when I was a kid. I would try all the brands just to see what they tasted like.
