Marcin Slysz Persian

#1

Post by Liquid Cobra »

I just spotted this on the Instagram. I'm not sure if it's a new design for Marcin or not, but it's new to me so I thought I would share. If Spyderco were ever inclined to do a collab on this I'd buy it in a heartbeat

I love the blade and do not care about flat Ti scales.

+1

It is a beautiful design to be sure, but I agree with the flat Ti scales. I'd also prefer less of a "bird's head" on the rearmost part of the handle. That is my only gripe for the Slysz Bowie too, BTW.

I really like the lines on that. Very slick.
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

Looks awesome. Definitely hope it would have rounded handles like the Bowie instead of flat. Wish it was closer in size to the Bowie as well, perhaps a little smaller. Regardless, I would buy this!

That's a nice looking knife. I don't think I would buy one.

Slysz Awesomeness!

Post by LC Kid »

Hi Folks!

The Slysz Persian certainly isn't a 'new' design from the very well respected polish designer/knifemaker Marcin Slysz.

I've seen it many times on the web the last 2 - 3 years, with or without the spyderhole. In my book is truly a winner, a fantastic neat clean utility EDC design.

That said, I don't see it anywhere close becoming a Slysz/Spyderco collaboration. Sadly, even the incredible Slysz SwayBack Framelock Folder now looks light years away from that. Maybe now it seems a knife has to be a Flipper to be even considered as a knife, or something like that.

Maybe the only design that seems capable of becoming a new collaboration is the Slysz Mouse Generation 2. And that is a BIG maybe.

It just looks like a sharpened pry bar. That blade is soooo thick, it can't slice well at all. I like beefy knives too but dang what is it, 5-6mm thick?

Any folder with 5-6 mm thick blade is off my wish list.
