I don't why I'm a sucker for all these Laconico designs

https://montereybayknives.com/product/e ... as-micarta

They had red paper micarta but I decided to pass on that one. I'm pretty sure it'll be hard like the G10 one I just bought. I prefer the feel of the canvas micarta

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I just got an MBK Slayback and it is awesome! Super snappy and beautiful little knife, and I really love the blade shape. And it's in zdp for anyone who's missing that steel.

I have never seen that before until now. If that were available, I would have just ordered it in a heartbeat. That knife is beautiful!

Julia...I know a guy, just in case you think it will end up on eBay someday! ;)

I just recently got in the mail a Hogue Ballista 1 Auto . It was an over run sold at the Blade Show . Only sold to the government/ military at this time . The knife is a beast . No release date for general public model , only prototype models were G10 not Aluminum.

The MBK website says more are coming next week. I know they just had a drop about a week ago. So maybe they didn't update? I'll ask on IG

I've really been liking the Laconico designs. They're really clean and functional. I'm looking forward to getting that EZC 1.5. I already have a Kizer Yorkie (same basic design but all Ti and smaller), Massdropp Keen (much larger), and the Artisan Cutlery small Centauri (fantastic especially considering what I paid for it)

Ha! You'll be first on my list! But seriously they'll make more. I'll give you a heads up if I hear about the next run. MBK seems to do multiple runs on any popular models, and lots of times with new handle materials. Maybe next run they'll add a micarta option...

Wow, I like that Centauri, too! I definitely share your love of the Laconico designs - they're so simple yet so clean and beautiful.

And you're right - more Slaybacks next week, looks like! Maybe the rest of their first production run coming in? Anyhow, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you end up getting one this time around. Sorry, I meant to take pics of it today but totally forgot. I'll try to post some up tomorrow.

Oh, and for anyone that likes to dress up their knives a bit, they have timascus clips that fit the Slayback. ;)

Such a cool design! My eye is now out for those to get back in stock. Thanks for posting it with the Delica as well. Wharnie's are winning me over these days!

I'm also really growing to the love the wharnie/sheepsfoot blades- they're just so useful for me, especially a slightly modified one with a little belly like the CRK insingo blades.

Another one to check out is the Vero Axon. They just released a front flipper framelock version, and it's excellent. It's on the pricey side, for sure, but used ones are already floating around for decent prices.

Good for you! Julia's pics up there ↑ aren't helping me haha

I saw Ray Laconico flipping one on IG yesterday. It looks amazing!

That little EZC 1.5 I picked up is impressive too. As far as the bearings/smoothness are concerned it pretty much rivals my 0470. That's saying a lot! The 0470 has a heavier blade so it might drop shut a little easier but not by much

I have to agree, my 0470 has the best/effortless action out of any folder I own. A big reason it stays in the collection, a beautiful knife with smooth as glass action!
