If Spyderco and CRK did a collab knife, my head might explode. ;) :D

How could CRK make Spyderco better? It will be a long day before I pay $500 for a knife that does the same thing or less because everybody has to have one.

I feel if you have the funds and are a knife geek, it's one of those iconic brands in the knife world and their worth checking out. I got one just to have one because of that reason. I don't see what's wrong with that.

After admiring the materials and feel in hand, I thought my small 31 is too nice to possibly damage in a warehouse, I'll save that for other situations. I decided on a Large Inkosi Insingo for work. Yes, it definitely didn't slice as nice as any Spyderco's I have in that size range. I've since reprofiled it to 17dps, removing the convex grind. It performs much better now.

That Inkosi feels great in hand, so does the small 31. It's a brand you just have to try I guess. Doesn't outperform Spyderco as a cutting tool, but they are a different knife and stand out in those ways.

Speaking of others, I've got this beauty on the way. Been eyeing it for a couple years but couldn't justify the price. $50 cheaper now, easy yes!! :)

Definitely not my typical style, I just think it's such a great mixture of a classic traditional design but with modern materials.

Thinking since all I carry is titanium folders, this new Bugout may need the titanium treatment. Any of you guys have the titanium scales on your Bugout?

KnifeCenter is BLAZING fast on this one! Ordered midday on Friday and is already on my front porch this morning. Not bad going from VA to NY and over a weekend!

Interesting, Rick! Very cool design, but I definitely wouldn't have guessed you'd like it. But I'm learning that it's pretty fun to branch outside of comfort zones.

Yes sir! I've tried a couple metal bugout scales - Flytanium ones are the most affordable, and have the best contouring, but my brass set had fitment issues. These are my favorites, though. They're really lightweight, and they look great with the blue accents:

They have plain jane ti scales, too.

That's a nice looking knife.

Do you happen to know if they have something similar with a blade under 3"?

There are spydercos with similar high price tags, and for good reasons:

1) Extreme attention to detail in design, and fit and finish, necessitating a much more labor-intensive manufacturing process,
2) High-end materials and associated costs,
3) Aesthetically beautiful plus top performance, or what I'd call "high end design."

Then add to that with Hinderer, CRK, and mid-tech American knives:
3) Made in the USA, where that extra labor costs a lot more
4) Assembled/fit by hand
5) Top notch warranty and servicing
6) Smaller batch manufacturing

Does everyone need a $500 knife? Of course not. But I do think there is usually good reason for those price tags.

I have a set of copper scales I threw on my bugout from Flytanium. They fit perfectly. I also got some copper ones from Flytanium for my Manix XL and they were way off so not sure if that helps or not.

They have one called the Scamp that's also on sale at KnifeCenter I believe. Smaller blade and handle, more contouring to the handle too.

Here it is in a couple different lightings I happened to catch tonight. Very thin and slim, nice long blade too. It's classy but cool!

Thanks Paul, definitely a different knife for me but I have to admit I like how it looks! Not going to be some work knife for me, but it will find a place :)

Thanks Rick. I just ordered the smaller one. My slip joint requirements are all 3" or less, because I use them for travel to less knife-friendly places than where I live.

Hah, funny.. I don't prefer coated blades, tantos, or the Inkosi vs. the Sebenza. But add them all together and.. WOW!! That is a thing of beauty!! :D

..well, that escalated quickly..
