It really depends on what games you're planning to play. For FPS or RPG, usually the graphic card requirement is rather high. The GeForce seems to be one or two years old.

It seems like a pretty good machine. I think it depends on the price.

Honestly, for first-person shooters, a keyboard and mouse completely dominates every single gaming controllers out there. For other games, you need to buy a separate controller. If a new game comes out, you have to check to see if your computer can handle it, or you have to upgrade your graphics card. With a dedicated gaming system, none of that. Plus, game stores don't stock PC games.

I've been out of the PC building game for a long long time. The rig I'm on right now I had a buddy help me spec out because I'm so out of touch with the industry I had no idea what was good and what wasn't. Everything I got except my motherboard, monitor, keyboard and mouse was a couple years outdated, but it still handles just about any game I've put on it at max settings. The beauty of PC gaming is it doesn't have to be bleeding edge new to be new to you. It's pretty stupid to try to stay on the cutting edge of PC tech, it just moves way too fast. Stay about a year or so behind and you'll still be able to play any new release game and upgrades are far cheaper.

its quite hard to play racing games at PC with key board, but if you have joy stick then fine. play station and xbox are best.
