Wow, I'm having trouble finding the words...

Some of you have been following the trials my wife, Arlene, has been going through (in the OT thread Prayers Needed)... and we really appreciate all of you who are out there praying for her.

And we ALL know what a great group of people the Spyderco Crew are. But sometimes their caring and compassion really comes through even louder than normal. This is certainly one of those times.

Today a box arrived from Golden addressed to Arlene. Included was this note:

Signed and commented by the crew (including The Big Guy and our very own Taz):

The comments, prayers and well wishing was completely overwhelming.

Also included was a familiar looking red and black box with this gem in it:

Wow! I mean, just WOW!

We are both so impressed. What a blessing you folks are.

These days we (all of us) become so used to being detached from the companies who provide us products and/or services. In this world, Spyderco reminds us what a company that truly cares looks like.

Well done people! Very well done,

Ken

I showed this to my wife and her eyes filled with tears. At least I think they did. My own tears were getting in the way.

I'm getting a little watery over here myself...
That is the most wonderful gesture from a great company with great people.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wow, that's a pretty amazing gesture.

I don't think I've posted in the other thread, but I have been hoping for the best for your wife and family, Ken. I imagine there are few people here whose lives have not been touched by this disease in one way or another. It is really reassuring to see all of the support and goodwill being offered by the Spyderco crew and the members here.

To the Management and Employees of Spyderco,

I am so touched and amazed at the caring of the Spyderco 'family.' My thanks and appreciation for the card signed by all of you out there in Colorado! The knife with my name engraved on it is very special. It's very rare that people today would show their support in such a way. Ken has been a member of your forum for a long time and has shared many things with me. He's always spoken very highly of Spyderco & Co. I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm going to be fine. I'm taking your suggestions and plan to kick this cancer in the 'butt.'

Also, I would like to thank everyone on the forum for your prayers. Ken has told me that there are many of you. I thank you so much and ask your continued prayers. Again, I believe I am going to be just fine.

I'm speechless. Wow, just wow. Ken you are obviously a valued member of the community here and this is just another reminder of that as well as a reminder of why we are all such loyal fans of Spyderco. It is about so much more than just knives. Truly inspiring. :)

Thanks for sharing that with us Ken. I am typing this with blurry eyes and a warm heart. I think because it's the people that make the company and the people of Spyderco continue to demonstrate compassion, strength, integrity, grace and it translates in their products. This is definitely a great community and I'm proud to be here.
Arlene, your strength and positive attitude is inspiring!

Prayers from Virginia

I am sorry to hear your family is going through this again, but like spyderco has said, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Prayers will continually be sent your way :)
