^Lovely photo Abbazaba!

Today I'm carrying my Shiro F95. I used it to open up this package that came this morning. I've been waiting for this to arrive for about a month, so I'm pretty excited it finally came!

It's a bronze coin from Ancient Rome, struck under the emperor Nero around AD 62-68. That is Nero on the obverse.

This coin completes my collection of the Julio-Claudian Caesars.

Very cool coin Connor!

Carried these two badass work knives today. Think I’ll go with them the rest of the week. All this 31 Insingo talk made me stick the 21 in the pocket!

Thanks! Yeah I find it so fascinating to be able to hold such an ancient piece of history in my hand, and to be able to see a contemporary portrait of these historical figures. Imagine what this coin has seen!
The oldest coin in my collection is a silver "siglos" from the Achaemenid Empire (Ancient Persia), dating to around 500 BC (time of Darius the Great - Xerxes I.) This would have been only about 100 years after coinage was first invented.

Ancient coins, I have discovered, is a rabbit hole far deeper and more varied (albeit no cheaper) than knives! Perhaps that's one reason I have not been buying as many knives lately. :eye-roll ;)

Definitely a historical hobby to get into! I don't know anybody that collects coins, but I can appreciate what they. Very cool to see!
