What "Other" is in your pocket???
Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
That one is still my most carried Sebenza... The weight balance is great. I really like the feel of the hand filling micarta, but the KA CF takes the cake as EDC. I haven't been posting a lot of pics lately because it hasn't been changing much, usually this combo:prndltech wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:08 pmI wish I would have kept my knifeart CF exclusive insingo 21’s till now. :eek:Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 11:09 amIt's so tough to find a large sebenza or inkosi with the insingo blade RH... Pretty annoying when you have the cash but the knife ain't available. But that is the knife game afterall.
Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I think I probably would've been happier with it had I gotten the fancy blue ti version. I just needed it to wow me more. Maybe it was just to hyped up and I was expecting a magic knife.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 6:27 amYeah, the lock stick is there and from what I have read and heard it is fairly common with these. Mine is neither severe nor subtle and I hope it mellows out.
The ergos are neither good nor bad for me. It is a fairly neutral handle but it is small. My middle aged blue collar hands like bigger handles, especially making hard cuts with a hammer grip. This is more of an EDC blade than a workhorse.
I’ll have to measure the bte thickness but it doesn’t seem any worse than 90% of my Spydies. Thinner than a Native but thicker than a Delica. I would guess 0.021 and will check tonight after work.
In the end it excels as a fidget toy which isn’t really my thing. I just wanted to add something different to the collection and for me this is definitely different.

I haven't tried any TRMs beyond the Atom and Newtron, but my preference there is definitely for the Atom.aicolainen wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 6:46 amVery nice, Julia!
The one knife acquisition goal I had for 2021 was to get a TRM... well, plan and execution don't always align. I've already spent a fair bit on knives, and still no TRM
Right now I can't even seem to decide which one(s) I want.
Or rather which order I want them. Most of them appeal to me and I would like to try them all, but I need to start with one. Though decision. And then there's availability.
I really like the Newtron, and almost jumped on the last batch, but it's also the one that, despite all its goodness, is most similar to knives I already have.
The Shadow is very interesting atm. That's probably where I would like to start, if I can get my hands on one. I'm not the biggest fan of axis locks, but that blade looks wicked.

I agree, I like it but it doesn’t quite live up to the hype. Some reviewers calling it “knife of the year” is a little too much.
The fancy version looks nice but for that much money it better not have lock stick too.

I don't have an izula and can't compare I use it most often to open packages, cut strings, etc. You can sharpen the poles or make a featheratick, but it is best to wear a glove then. In my opinion, the lanyard also gives a grip with the little finger, which makes it more comfortable to hold. It's also easier to pull out of kydex.
