That's a bummer. I haven't been on the forum long, but I wonder if people go in and out of the hobby over the years. Take a break then jump back in. Maybe a natural progression. Ups and downs in interest.

Josh is still around on BF, so at least we know he's ok. Last I knew the only Spydie he owned was the GB2 I sold BACK to him lol. Hopefully he'll come back to show us his new knives in this thread.
The whole knife market may have hit an improbable all time high over the last couple years, but also seemed to take a dive over the last few months or so. However, it seems to be picking back up on the Exchange and elsewhere. Hard to tell if that's just the holiday spending spree though. Regardless it's definitely been a little different around here compared to the past.
I haven't been rotating as much as I had been, and also broke the camera lens on my phone so it's been a reduced presence from myself. I need to dig some old favorites out of the safe and give them some much needed daylight. I also have a small pile of CRKs I want to reprofile, but my free time has been dominated by mt biking lately.

Yes, Josh is around on BF. MEK knives and Carothers forums for sure. I'm just guessing here, but he may not feel comfortable coming to Sal's house only to talk about other brands.

Josh is a good guy. I think he's taken a break from the Spydie forum in the past. I'm sure he'll stick his head in the door again at some pointTkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:49 pmI just randomly thought, we haven't seen Josh around in a bit. Looked him up, he hasnt logged in, in a few months now.
Sucks, LOTS of our normal, daily people seem to have left or are taking a break. Feels like a ghost town on the forum in general these days. All the new threads seem to have the same 15 people or less participating. Makes hanging around a lot less fun
I've been on less lately. I'm still excited about knives but the gun hobby has a little more of my attention right now. Plus the forum I moderate on has become busier too. So there's more cats to herd. I finally came to the realization that I have way more knives than I'll ever need. So I'm enjoying them instead of continuously spending money on other knives that I'll stick in a drawer. I'll sell off a bunch at some point but that money will likely be used to fund a new custom match rifle instead of more knives. I just need to find the time and desire to start listing them somewhere
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

I've been carrying a A.G. Russell lockback with a mother of pearl handle a lot lately. It's a wonderful piece, although usually it's my "secondary" knife, and the primary (usually a Watu or a GB2) does most of the cutting. I'm not a big fan of polished blades, but in this case I think it fits the overall design.
I've attached a picture of it next to two knives of similar size. The AG is inferior to both in terms of pure performance—but the handle is sooo nice I just can't help putting it in my pocket.

I have purchased and carried knives just for their handles. It’s good some makers have not forgotten what a joy a nice handle is. Plastic is great for a tool that you don’t have to worry about, but somethings have a look and feel that is a joy to use.jlw wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 1:28 pmI've been carrying a A.G. Chris Reeve Small Inkosi with Insingo blade. A definite favorite lately. I really like this blade shape for an every day folder.

The small Inkosi is such a great little tank of a knife.

It really is. I thought I wouldn't like the small Inkosi that much because of how chunky it is, but I can't quit carrying the thing.
Case in point, it went fishing with me today.
