A simple work tool.

Still this thing. Simple, effective, punches above its weight. Sadly, one of the few remaining remnants of a once great Sheffield steel industry.

Lately, I've been carrying a Fiskars Pro Compact Folding Utility Knife as a back-up cutting tool to my Spyderco (currently running a Yojimbo 2, PM2 in Cru-Wear, serrated Li'l Temperance 3 Lightweight, Endura 4 in ZDP-189, & Delica 4 in K390 in my work rotation).
20221125_155319.jpg
I use it when I have to do things that could seriously mess up a knife edge, like cutting bundles of baling wire free of their plastic wrap or cutting into and through cardboard that's laying directly on the warehouse's concrete floor. I also use it when I have to cut something around the occasional manager who blanches at the sight of a "deadly weapon" in the workplace (to these people, I would like to say that a properly trained & motivated person could dispatch them as easily with a Fiskars boxcutter as they could with a Spyderco, but I also like having a job LOL).
20221125_155409.jpg
The Fiskars Pro Compact Folding Utility Knife is probably the second most comfortable folding utility knife I've ever used (the most comfortable one I've used is the full-sized version, but that one is too chunky to serve as a back-up). It has a very thick & rounded handle but can still fit in the watch pocket of my work jeans. Great action with the button lock as well. The only thing I don't like about it is the obnoxiously huge, tip-down only pocket clip.

I'm pretty stuck on this knife lately. For a sub 3 inch blade, it's about as good as it gets for me right now. Hate to admit it but in "real world" use I even like it better than my Sebenza. I'll throw in a Spyderco in a fancy "steel nerd" steel to go along with it once in a while but this little Inkosi Insingo is just right. The Insingo blade shape just might be my perfect EDC blade.

That Insingo blade shape is about perfect for EDC needs. Solid tank of a knife that still finds a way to be smooth as butter.

It's getting hard to get this one out of my pocket to make room for something else.

It accompanied me on a 2-3 mile walk in some undeveloped state land beside the Missouri River this afternoon.

Today I'm carrying my Benchmade Bugout. Swapped the blue Grivory scales for purple G-10 and found some purple screws and a pocket clip on Etsy.

He's back!! Good to see ya Josh! Actually just asked about you the other day.

That's a nice looking inlay you've got on that one.

Thanks Rick! I talked to Paul over Thanksgiving weekend and thought I’d pop in! Life has been super busy, work and everything else in between. Currently waiting on a new turbo for the truck on top of everything else. 😂
