Neck knife with amboyna burl scales, made by a local bladesmith.
I really like the blade shape on that one!
I'm looking at making my own knife. I can cheaply get the materials, have most of the tools I need; but not the forging stuff. We don't really have bladesmiths around here--just one guy who slaps handles on the cheap Pakistan-made blanks and calls them handmade. Many decades my great-Granddad made his own knives for butchering hogs, usually from old, broken crosscut saws. Most of them are still around--I own three. They are very tough, and very easy to sharpen. They hold an edge equal to basically any basic carbon steel knife on the market today. Actually, better than a factory-produced Old Hickory.

Thank you.
I thought of making knives when I was younger. I read books on knifemaking, bought a few pieces of equipment, but since I already had a full time business, that dream never took off. Best of luck to you if you decide to pursue bladesmithing in the future.
I really like these - the CF/S90V ones are so unloved - $133 on New Graham and still not sold out
I wonder if there are knife makers that will do a regrind for me

The Rat1 D2 is by far my favorite hard use folder under $50. I absolutely thrash mine and its as solid as the day I bought it. Excellent value for the money.

I carried a Rat 2 for a while and loved it...still have it, in fact. Definitely an excellent knife for the money. WayofKnife does really cool mod jobs and scales on the Rat models. I've always been tempted by them.

Thank you for the heads up on Wayofknife. I will definitely check that out. I would love to find some Micarta scales!
It is a Pena X Series Swayback front flipper in M390, couldn’t be happier with it. The other one is a Barlow with a clip point blade which is very nice as well.
But the swayback is my favourite. Managed to kick the Spyderco Air out of my pocket (for now).
