I bought them both used for great prices. :)

I definitely like my Bark Rivers. Many of their knives are too thick for me but the four that I have are all awesome knives with thin blades. I may pick up the Mini Kephart next.

Life has been crazy hectic lately (but not too busy to buy knives that I don’t need) which is why I haven’t been posting as much but I will get some comparison pics after work tonight.

Please don’t put yourself out in anyway Darby. There’s no urgency whatsoever. :)

^^Agreed!!

@BFK, my A2 Bravo 1 is def too thick. I’d be happy enough with a thinner stock and the same steel. I may get the Old Hickory 7” butcher knife and rehandle it for fun. Great cheap camp knife.

I don’t usually carry something this large but I’m waiting for my just ordered Szabo folder to arrive so I figured I should get used to it.

I love my Keen. I have the stonewashed brass version. One of my favorite knives. I would love to see Spyderco work with Laconico. Spyconico?

Sorry for the terrible focus. :o

Darby, what model is the very bottom knife? I was looking around last night on DLT Trading, it takes a little time going through the 5,968 models Bark River offers!! :D

That is just their standard Kephart in desert ironwood. I really like it. They have done the standard Kephart in 3V and CPM154. The 3V are 0.94” blade stock and the CPM154 are .125 blade stock.

The four models are:
Wilderness Explorer/Cruwear/Green Canvas
Mountain Man 5/3V/Antique Bone Linen Red Liners
Kephart 5/4V/Natural Canvas
Kephart/3V/Desert Ironwood

Many Thanks Darby! There’s just something about old classics designs.

I’m sold on the Mountain Man that’s for sure but the way our dollar is against yours at the moment I may have to wait a bit and see how it pans out. The 5” 4V Kephart I was looking at that I thought was reasonably priced last week, as of yesterday jumped to $AU399.95.

Thanks again mate! :)

After just focusing on Spyderco the first 18 months or so of getting interested in pocket knives, I’ve found myself venturing out to try a few other offerings. A mix of TRM, GiantMouse, ZT and Benchmade. So far very happy with the choices thus far!

How do you like the Crooked River?? It's the only Benchmade that has ever caught my eye.

The Mini Crooked River was my first Benchmade, but I’ve really enjoyed it and the axis lock. Blade length is slightly longer than when I tend to favor, but it hasn’t bothered me on the MCR. Incredibly comfy full grip, great action - I’d highly recommend it. Especially fun to play with some of the custom options now available on the BM site.

Got this in and have been using it. It's pretty excellent. Ebony one is coming in tomorrow. Great action, great blade geometry, never seen so many chamfers on a knife of this price. Edge just needs a little tightening. Feels a bit rounded.

Looks good! I was eyeing that rosewood model I believe it's called? Look like pretty good knives for the price.
