I'm working my way through Will and Ariel Durant's magnum opus, The Story of Civilization (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Civilization). It's something like 11,000 pages, so it's going to take me a while. I've just started volume 2 (of 11).

I've only ever read half of 1 book as an adult. I just turned 26 last month. I plan to re read it and finish it sometime. It's called "A man's search for meaning."

I always suffered with reading comprehension problems and what I now learned is ADHD, specifically with keeping focus. Luckily I have been getting treated as of recently.

Wow! That'll take some dedication, but it should be fascinating read!

Recently I finished reading Black Drink: A Native American Tea.
It is a collection of essays written about how various tribes
prepared and used Yaupon to make a tea.

The book was of interest to me because Yaupon,
by which I am surrounded,
is the only plant in North America with caffeine.
It also has theobromine, "food of the gods",
the flavor molecule that makes chocolate so yummy.

Yaupon tea is very tasty.
But I don't make it the way described in the book.
Here is where I wrote more about, illustrated.

I'm re-reading my newest book to make sure I got the science and technology right. I just finished reading a Louis L'Amour book, the Comstock Load, too.

Just finished The Guns of John Moses Browning by Nathan Gorenstein. This book was recommended by Ian from Forgotten Weapons. Pretty good. It's an enjoyable read, not a dry historical treatise.

Currently re-reading The Man Called Noon by Louis L'Amour. This one, Flint, and The Last of the Breed are my favorite westerns.

If anyone's looking for new sci-fi, The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells is surprisingly good. I was turned off by the name until several people recommended the series to me. Now I'm glad I gave it a try.

Hercule Poirot's Case Book, set in the post First World War era. It's a long (800+ pages) book but a fun read. My goal is 100 print books this year. I spend an inordinate amount of time on the road, so I'm listening to the Private series by James Patterson about an international private investigation firm, Private. It's a suspenseful read!

I recently read this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Enemies-My-Count ... B083Y4KC7Q

5/5 definitely recommend. It's an easy to read, gripping, fast paced thriller. Perfect for summer vacation or audio for a long drive.
