I never drink alcohol. - I've drank alcohol before, but cant stand the taste of it plus, it makes me sick. Ive just never gotten along well with it. Until today lol. We had lunch at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville. While there, my niece ordered a virgin Pina colada. Man did it look good! I told the server, I'd have a virgin pina colada as well, but my wife of all people (she never drinks either-doesnt like it) told me that if I were to get one, then get a real one lol. So, I said ok......and I'm figurin theres goes 8 bucks down the drain. Not the case! That was hands down the very best alcohllic mixed drink Ive ever tasted! You could not taste the alcohol at all. Now whether or not a pina colada is supposed to taste like that i dont know. But after getting about halfway thru it, and rather quickly lol, my wife confiscated it, citing that I was driving lol. I then asked my wife is she could taste any alcohol, and she said no, which got us to thinking that the server may have goofed. However, after about 5-10 minutes, I knew that wasnt the case.......I started to feel loose and happy. I knew then it was the real deal. I was also very thankful for my wife confiscating it as well. Because if she hadnt, I wouldnt have been fit to drive I believe lol.
At any rate, if ever get a chance to happen by Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, give the Pina Colada a try. I really do believe you'll love it ;)

Murph, I haven't tried that one, but I have tried some of the other offerings from Old Schoolhouse and have been pleased. How's their IPA?

I'm a HUGE IPA guy, and this is by far my favorite. It's won some gold medals at the great American beer festival as well. It's pretty hard to find other then up here or if you go to Winthrop. When ever I see it I buy a few bottles!

I wouldn't say that, necessarily. It was just your story of how you didn't like the taste and then had a very sweet drink that didn't make it seem like you were drinking alcohol. I love Kids in the Hall.

In contrast, my wife got me a bottle of Eagle Rare and a bottle of Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye for fathers day. Two very different but very nice whiskies. Maybe I'll get a pick up with the Schempp bowie later...

I just discovered the Moscow Mule - man that went down smooth! The sort of thing I could drink too much of and not know it until it was too late :)

I stocked up on Alaskan Brewing Hop Turn before it was discontinued. Kinda like a "sprint run" beer. 7.5% ABV IPA, except using all German hops. Really, really smooth and balanced IPA. Have a couple cases left.

Have also been enjoying Caesars, which our neighbors to the North (or in my case the west) should be pretty familiar with. Usually garnish mine with a piece of bacon, or fried Spam. (!!!)

Yes I love a good Caesar. I have to say your bacon idea is genius. Down south they enjoy bloody Mary's but they just aren't the same.

Absolutely.

Enjoying a cool (large) can of Canadian tonight after dinner. It's not the fanciest beer, but it gets the job done.

And the bloody bull outclasses both!

Make an extra spicy bloody mary, then hit it with an ounce of beef broth. Pretty much alcoholic gazpacho at that point, but it's my go to for an all day drinkathon.
