A good Golden Retriever passed on

#1

Post by Peter1960 »

As many other families we also could say for a long time, we have the best of all dogs for our family ... we called her Aaya and she was my dog, you know what I mean.

For fourteen years we took care for her and she gave us back a lot, she was our beloved family member. Last Sunday morning we were forced to put her to sleep. The heaviest decision in my life, and my whole family were back on decision.

I have no shame to say I cried over her on Sunday, on Monday and still it gives me pain. I lost an important companion ...

Thanks for reading these lines, actually it helps me a lot to share my lost with others.

Picture shows Aaya on one of our last walks, about one month ago.

I'm sorry for your loss. I have a little golden and he's my best friend. All you can do is provide them the best life possible, spoil them sometimes and have a ton of fun together. Dogs serve to remind us of our better nature and that everyday should be filled with such simple joys as running in a field, barking at critters and chasing a ball around. Love unconditionally, be loyal to those that earn your trust, always have as much fun as you can and relax when the day is done. Good luck making it through a tough time.

I am sorry for your loss. What a beautiful girl! We are lucky to be able to share are lives with them, even for just a moment. I have said it before, I really believe dogs give us a lifetime of love in the short time they are with us.

So sad to hear that. I have gone through it myself, it is one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make. To make matters worse you can't ask your old friend for there opinion on the matter making it that much more difficult. My 10 year old daughter reminded me of a quote she had read the other day in one of her Dr. Suess books "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" It is so painful when they pass but try and remember the fun times. All the best.

Peter,
I am sorry for your loss. Golden Retrievers are such a great dogs. It is very unfair that dogs have very short life. A man's dog should live as long as a man.

Sorry for your loss Peter. It's always difficult when Family goes.
