So we all share one, what else do you obsess over? I have a thing for mechanical pencils, not as pricey as this habit though. And mustard greens, but mostly because they are not readily available.

Really? Our local grocer carries them regularly. I never tried them. My "greens" tend to be kale and spinach...

As to other "hobbys" nothing even close to knives. I guess shaving gear would be second, though the AD has eased a bit in recent years.

Coffee brewing gear would have to be third. I have an example of practically every method of making a cup of coffee from ibrik to espresso to Aeropress. Maybe 15 total.

Other "typical" things like pens, watches, lights etc I'm just a tourist 3-5 of each.

my biggest item of expenditure besides knives is photo gear.
on top of that i'm shooting more film than digital these days and films/developpment cost a pretty penny.

-digital:
nikon d300s, 4 lenses (collecting dust on shelves)
fuji x100

-film:
120: mamiya 645 1000s, 2 lenses (great system but heavy to carry around)
135: olympus OM systems (OM1 and 2), just under 10 lenses (love these, compact SLR and less attention than bigger names so better deals)

nikon L35, normal and awaf version

Cars. I have an '85 Mustang that I've labored over for 10 years now. Bicycles, I have about a dozen of them in the garage and I ride any chance I get. I'm also an Elder Scroll/Fallout/Grand Theft Auto addict.

Other than knives i am kind of little obsessed with PC games

Guns, Motorcycles and Watches for me.

Along with the knives, guns both long & short, (holster making for mine & an occasional friend as well), cameras, but I'm not in the darkroom much any more since digital. Still have film & cameras for up to 8x10 sheet film.

I've started perusing watch magazines... not good.

Vehicles...and music, but mostly vehicles. Here are my 3...and I'm only 25 so it's more than a hobby. I'll include a picture of my quad too if I can find one.

Flashlights for sure. I've been getting into modded lights lately. It's all just a matter of time before I turn to customs.

Other than that, I'd say great food and great wine. Living in DC, I have access to a veritable cornucopia of each and spend a lot of my hard-earned dollars in that department.

Axes, Guns and Hunting would be my other two addictions. Wonder how knives slipped in there....

And we won't talk about the 20 plus antique tractors my dad and I have compiled over the years.

Skeet and Sporting Clays... I really like shotgunning and probably shoot about 12k rounds a year. While being a lot of fun, it chews up disposable income rather quickly.

Other than that, traditional wet shaving has been a hobby for the couple years but seems to have slowed down recently.

Knives number one followed by watches, boots, belts, guns, ammo, fishing equipment and knife sharpeners. I have learned over the years that if you collect knives long enough you eventually end up with a collect of shatpeners which is actually an interesting thing to collect. I just haven't found a sharpener that I'm totally pleased with yet. I would like to see what kind of spstem it is that Spyderco uses to put the original factory edge on their knives. Does anyone know what they use?

I definitely collect music if that counts. I used to collect lighters, but I quit smoking about two years ago and it is hard to justify in more ways than one. I also sort of collect toy guns (cap guns, etc). I also have an odd array of old coins and bills that I really enjoy getting my hands on.

Spyderco dominates quite easily. Very good idea for a thread.

Books - although I'm currently getting rid of most of them; cutting down from 3,000 to 300
Musical Equipment - despite my best intentions I'm up to four drum sets, 35 cymbals, two basses and two guitars.
Bicycling - doing good here, only a Klein road bike and a touring bike I put together.

Netsuke , mop items lighters , wade whimsies , Moorcroft pottery .
Currently still buying all the above although the wade is my daughters .
Also dogs bullmastiff , firstly but any bull breeds English first , then mastiff/molosser types .
If I had the land I'd have ten dogs minimum , love em did keep reptiles but they require so much care spreading thin is not an option and is irresponsible , I guess I have addictive personality disorder .

Would also collect guns too but the hassle and limitations here make it not really viable .

Here's a little video of the piggy bank I made a few years ago. The interior is mostly gutted right now and in the process of switching to black. Unfortunately the last time I had it out just a couple months ago, it saw 8500RPM+ and snapped a rocker stud right off the head so it's down for a while now lol.

Working out. It is free, but I spend a fair amount of time maintaining my strength and conditioning.
