Oh he is going be a tank! I have had the pleasure of meeting 2 or 3 Newfoundlanders in my life, I can't imagine a more kind and lovable companion ...except maybe a Springer Spaniel but you know I am a little biased. Congratulations!

There are similarities but gorillas eat less.

Congrats, Tank. I remember my Dad telling me that he found a wandering Newfoundland in our neighborhood a long time ago. He felt bad for it and it swung by to say hello. Needless to say, my Dad gave it some water and lashed it to our a fence so the searching owner would find the dog. My mom came home from work (this was long before cell phones) and thought a black bear was chilling in the backyard. My Dad laughed so hard trying to explain what had happened.

He's a great little guy, lots of fun and pretty smart. Already knows sit really well, learning stay sorta and knows his name. Crate training is going really well too and the rest of the crew and he are all getting along great as well.

D1omedes,,,, I was hiking with Tank one day several years ago and passed a couple on the trail who asked me if he was a bear,, I jokingly said yes and went about my hike,, a little while later I ranger pulled up on us in his truck and started laughing.. apparently that couple went back down to the ranger station and told him there was a guy up on the trail with a bear on a leash. Had a good laugh at that one for sure.

That's just too funny. I would have said the same thing, maybe added that he was fine as long as a
stranger didn't look him straight in the eye or as long as he didn't sense fear from someone.

I know how much Tank meant to you, so I am happy to see that Cosmo is starting out so well.
We have 7 dogs now, but we lost a beloved german shepherd several years back and there isn't
a day that goes by that I don't think of her at some point in time.
