I would love to know how many of my fellow forumites carry and how many carry daily and what you carry anf why and feel free to share. I will start by saying I have my VA CCW permit and I carry my firearm as religiously as my knives. I have my Kahr 45 on my person almost 100% of the time I am wearing pants. My pics to follow!

I don't carry but my two favorite pistols are a S&W 617 10-shot and a 657 41 Remington magnum. Will be looking to add a Kimber 1911 stainless target once all the craziness dies down.

I am pretty excited by the Arsenal Firearms Strike One model, it has a lot of innovative features and it is supposed to replace the venerable Makarov in the Russian Army and Police:

That is a very sharp looking firearm.

I EDC a S&W Shield in 9mm when the weather is warm and rotate between a HK P30L and Kimber TLE when I wear a jacket.

I would post a picture, but Ken had to break out the big gun and I don't want mine to feel bad about themselves. ;) :p

;) Sorry brother!

I have to say, it may not be the most practical EDC, but that thing is so much fun to shoot! It just makes me smle.

:) Same here. I'm afraid that my wee pee-shooters would simply turn tail and run away if they saw that 500. :p Personally, I'm also a big fan of anything Kahr pistols (the CW9 being a personal favorite). From there, I also really like Sig Sauer's line of 1911's. :)

I prefer Trijicon HD sights however.

What is the purpose of the cutout on the Glock slide?

To make the slide weigh the same as the model 17. Also speeds up cycle time with competition loads.

I love my model 26. Carry permit will be here any day!

As stated, it makes the slide the same weight as a Glock 17 (since this one has an extended slide/barrel). This allows them to use a standard recoil spring and not have to make multiple recoil springs for the same frame/caliber. Another thing that happens is with a lighter slide, there's less mass recoiling back, it tracks flater, and has felt recoil is less because of this.

I live on base and can't carry daily, and I'm not going to deal with armory for my firearms either. Unfortunately I'm stuck waiting a while before I can go back to carrying every day.

Cary is not an option here in Canada, unfortunately. Currently I have a Gen 4 G17 and a P-07 Duty. I had a G17-C with a cut out slide but it was different than the one above. This isn't my pic.
