Very difficult choice but I'll have to say the Navaja/Para 2/Manix 2. Does that count as one :D

hey guys,
well, i received the holes that i won in the give-a-way, only problem is, i don't think they're really hole cutouts from a known spyderco knife blade blank.
don't get me wrong, i know these were give-a-ways, freebies.
i have nothing at all invested in these whatsoever.
and to doman, i mean no disrespect.
but these circles measure right at 27.5 mm.
i have a military and a para 1, and there's no way these cutouts came from either of these blade blanks.
both knives holes measure in at @ 14 mm.
like i said, this isn't a gripe.
just wondering what these could have come from at spyderco?
btw, the thickness measures @ 3.5 mm., but they're not surface ground.
here's a couple pics of the cutouts beside my military.

again, i'm not calling doman out at all, and would still like to thank him for taking the time and effort to run the contest, pick a winner, and mail out the cutouts.
they're still pretty cool chunks of metal.
i'm just looking for opinions on these mystery hole cutouts.
thanks for looking!
later,
don

My Swick2 hole is about 23mm. Those are big hunks of Spydiehole, my friend.

Great contest, Frank! Thanks!

Who knows, maybe Sal is cooking up a new Spyderco model with a 'superoversized spydiehole' or something like that. You know, for big guys and such.

hey guys,
i've had this on my mind all day at work.
the only thing i can come up with is the possibility of the cutouts coming from a mule handle.
but it seems like i remember someone here saying they weren't doing the lightening holes anymore, only the pin holes, on the newer blanks.
i don't have a mule to measure the holes, so i'm not at all sure.
could someone with a mule without scales attached measure the handle holes and see if this is a possibility?
thanks a bushel.

don

hey guys,
just looked at the mules and the swick on the website.
mule holes aren't near big enough, but the swick could be the one. there's no measurement for the index finger hole, so i'm still not sure.
